DAMIAN Felix and Zara are asleep in the center of the bed. Both are completely out, the kind of deep sleep that only comes after a long and difficult night.Morning light pours through the open curtains, bright and almost harsh against the quiet room. It spills across the floor and the bed, touching the blankets and their faces. The light feels too strong for how still everything is.The curtains are pulled closed, slowly and carefully, until the room grows dim again. The sharp sunlight fades, replaced by a softer shade that lets the room breathe.Caleb leans over and switches off the lamp beside the bed.
