DOMINIC If I said I kissed her—or told her to step away—because she wouldn’t stop talking, I’d be lying. It was probably because her face hovered over mine, her lips parting as she spoke. I could see the soft pink inside her mouth, and before I could think better of it, I leaned up, grabbed the back of her head, and pulled her down. My lips crashed against hers. I moved my mouth over hers, and the moment I slipped my tongue into her mouth, she jerked away as though the kiss had shocked her. Her eyes widened. Her lips remained slightly parted. “Stop doing that,” she muttered, her chest rising and falling as colour crept into her cheeks. The flustered look suited her more than any expression she’d ever worn. “Doing what?” I asked, reaching for the barbell and lifting it again as though I hadn’t just kissed her. “Kissing me.” She glared down at me. “I have permission to do more than that.” I shrugged before lifting the barbell with a low grunt.
