Julian sighed, massaging his temples. "I spoke to her...for the second time actually." He confessed. There was a brief pause before Zane spoke. "Alright. How did that go?" He asked even though a part of him already knew the answer. "It didn't go well," Julian replied, and he could almost feel Zane roll his eyes over the phone, his face saying, "Of course, it didn't." You idiot'. Confirming his suspicions, Zane snorted. "Wow. What a surprise." Julian didn't miss the sarcasm in his tone. Rolling his eyes, he replied. "Can you at least pretend to be sympathetic? I'm hoping through a hard time here." "No," Zane answered immediately. The blunt answer made Julian laugh again. Shaking his head, he leaned back in his chair and continued. "She's still angry." He confessed and he heard a loud sigh from Zane. "Of course she is. It would be strange if she isn't." Julian stared out the window. Then he sighed heavily, his expression filled with sadness.
