They're Not Human.... *MIRA* As I quietly climbed the stairs to my room, trying to process the chaos of the night, I ran directly into Rurik. I made a move to slip past him, but his hand shot out, catching my arm to hold me back. “We have an urgent job to do in the office right now,” he commanded. “Uhh… Rurik, I…” I tried to protest, exhaustion heavy in my bones, but then the stark reminder of my reality hit me. I was here to work, and I desperately needed this job to raise the money for my sister’s surgery. “It is fine,” I sighed, yielding to his grip. “I just hope we finish quickly because I need to sleep.” Before I could even finish my sentence, Rurik turned on his heel and strode down the stairs toward the office, leaving me to follow him silently through the darkened hallway. When we stepped into the room, Vlad was already there, typing furiously on the computer. He was completely focused, his gaze locked onto the screen as if he hadn't even noticed us enter.
