Chapter 42Lilith Shit! I cursed inwardly after trying to push the door open but failed. I was trapped on this floor! Alpha Casper had noticed my presence. I tiptoed back into the room as quietly as a mouse, shutting the door behind me. I carefully navigated my way in the dimly lit room to avoid bumping into anything. I made my way to the bed, sleeping under it in order not to be caught should Alpha Casper burst in suddenly. My mind raced with a million thoughts, and my eyes were wide open in fear. Soon, my eyelids were heavy, and I dozed up. The chirpings of the bird filled my ears, and my eyes fluttered open. It was morning already. I rolled from beneath the bed, standing on my feet to take off the dust that clung to my body. The Sunrays seeped through the dark curtains into the room, giving it a warm orange glow. Gently, I part the curtains slightly, squinting as the rays hit my eyes. Light flooded the room, and I adjusted my eyes to the brightness. Making out the

Chapter 44LilithI licked my lips nervously, masking the fear on my face. I thought I got all the dust. Now I was going to get caught! “I was deep cleaning,” I muttered in a shaky voice, burying my hands in my pocket. “And yes, I slept in my room. I was probably in the toilet with earbuds, so I didn't hear you.”“Okay.”“Next time, don't bother looking for me.” “The last time I almost didn't look for you, you escaped.”“I'm not escaping again. Why were you even looking for me?” “I just wanted to wake you up early so that we can finish today's task quickly. Since you are not fully healed, you can do the easier task.” A smile formed on my face. “That's so thoughtful of you. Thank you, but Alpha gave me his permission to stay idle until I am fully healed. Her head tilted back in shock, and her lips parted wide open. “He did? That is so unlike him. I noticed your presence is unlocking a new side of him. It's a good thing.” She commended, jumping onto me for a hug. I winced in pai

Chapter 46Lilith“I don't expect you to give me a reply right now because it's a lot. Here is the card, if you think you can do it, you know where to find me.” He winked before slipping a small card in my hand before squeezing it tight while I kept staring at him as if I had seen a ghost. I should sleep with a vegetable for $50000? Hell yes! I'll do anything as long as it means my family will get the best treatment, and I won't lose any of them. “Do I have to marry him after I get pregnant?” My shaky voice pierced through the silence before I swallowed. My keen eyes were fastened on the doctor, and my heartbeat accelerated. “No. The pay is like compensation for your trouble. Plus, you will also get a well-furnished house. You don't have to worry about getting an apartment to move your family.” He looked at me, expecting a reply, but I was lost for words. I didn't know when I dropped the card in my bag. The offer keeps getting better. How rich was this man?!My head was in a s

Chapter 48CasperMy breath hitched, and my eyes darted to the window as if searching for Lilith. Raphael got up to his feet after noticing my strange behaviour. His concerned eyes were glued to me. “Are you alright?” “I sense danger,” I replied, licking my bone-dry lips. He scoffed, sitting beside me before tapping my shoulder lightly. “Relax. Everyone is safe.” “What about Lilith? We don't know why she hasn't returned home and it's getting dark. It's not safe for her, especially after Tim warned me to protect her that the traffickers are after her,” I blurted in a worrisome tone. My forehead was folded in uneasiness, and my heart picked up at a faster pace. “You are just overthinking. Lilith is fine. You are yet to get over Tim's death, and it's messing with your head,” he said cleverly, making all my worry vanish into thin air. My heartbeat was back to normal, and the fear in me was swept away. Raphael could be a jackass sometimes, but I loved being around him. He has solu

Chapter 50LilithMy hands clung to my chest as I let out a loud gasp. It was my imagination! “Fuck!” I cursed silently, swallowing hard. My mind was a mess, I hated how it made me imagine intimate things between Casper and I. “Do you sleep with the light off or on?” Alpha Casper's voice pulled me out of my reverie and I tilted my head to his direction. I swallowed, tearing my eyes from his before adjusting on his king-sized bed. I was afraid staring into his eyes for too long would make me lose my senses. My emotions were rapidly taking over me and I was just hanging by a thread. “He is your boss, Lilith. Nothing weird is going on,” I repeated to myself, wiping off the imaginations that played in my head, before letting out a shaky breath. “I sleep with…the…light…off, I mean on…I actually…sometimes…” I stammered, as I found it difficult to string the right words. Thanks to him! Urgh! I felt like a fool for revealing how being in close contact with him could mess with me.
