It was as if the moment she brought his attention to his gun shot wound, it really started to bite again.“Fuck,” he kissed his teeth as the pain hit him like an electric shock.Ivy jumped out of his hand, her eyes white with shock.“How could you catch me with a bleeding arm? Are you trying to lose an arm?!” She screamed, half upset, half distraught. He opened his mouth to respond, but a pounding headache shut him up.Closing his eyes, he waited for the headache to clear up.Seconds went by, but it just grew worse, even making his teeth clatter.Vladimir realised he had underrated just how bad the shot was, and now his pride was biting him in the ass– in all parts of his body, actually.Forcing his eyes open, he decided he'd do something about it, before it was too late.He almost jumped out of his skin when he saw Ivy running out of his bathroom, jumping through the pile of rubbish she created on the floor, whilst holding a pale and what was once his white singlet in her hand. There

There is an art to a good slap.It must be directed at an angle, and with a certain kind of explosive intensity. When that slap connected, Ivy instantly felt her face burning. The slap was so hard, the key dropped out of her hand.To make matters even worse, it dropped straight on her pinky toe, causing a different kind of pain.“You really had the key, you witch! You wanted my son to die, didn't you? You locked him up!” She lifted her hand to slap the other side of Ivy's cheek, but before her hand could connect, someone pulled her back.“Enough, mum Natasha!” The voice was so firm, the whole room fell silent.Utter silence, save for the ringing in Ivy's ear, from the slap.“Have you lost your mind, Andrei? Let me go so I can teach this whore a lesson!” “Do you want to do that, or grab the key? Choose one!” He said, but didn't give her the chance to actually choose.Letting go, he moved forward, crouched, and grabbed the key from the floor.Without saying another word, he turned, a

In that moment, standing before Vladimir, the husband she hated, and the invincible forces that watched from the beyond, Ivy went through a rollercoaster of emotions. His finger on her chin was softer than the skin of a newborn, which was a clear juxtaposition, considering how hard his hands naturally were.It wasn't the texture of his touch that did her confused head in, it was also how it made her feel. For one, she couldn't comprehend her thumping heart. She just didn't understand her stomach, so clenched with tension. There was something troubling about the atmosphere inside of her, a single touch from him invited, and it scared her to death.“Anyone who dares to bruise such a masterful canvas, is a monster. A menace to society. Tell me who they are, Princess. Tell me so I can punish them thoroughly,” he cajoled through a whisper, as that finger that once held her chin, moved all over her bruised cheek. The result of his touch wasn't just the thumping anymore. It was also electrif

Vladimir didn't move from his door for a couple of minutes. With his back buried to it, and his eyes tightly shut, he battled against Ivy's words. She had successfully planted a seed in his mind without even trying too hard.An incredibly terrible seed. His mother wouldn't ever hurt anyone that badly just because she hated them.He tried his hardest to convince himself that she wouldn't.It was just the convincing part that was hard to register in his brain.Opening his eyes, he looked around to see the mess still in his room. The thought of his mother's reaction when she came into his room and saw it this way, returned to mind.“Did that witch do this to your room?! I'll kill her if it was her!”His heart skipped a beat, but then he shook his head.“She was just overreacting as usual. No way. There's just no way.”A knock on the door caused his heart to rock a little.“Who the fuck–” he paused himself, and turned to face the door. “Who is there?” He asked more calmly.“It's us, boss.

Vladimir was the first to step into the meeting room, a scowl on his face.He sat at the head of the table, his shoes tapping impatiently against the perfectly polished wooden floor, as he waited for everyone else to join in.The prompt had gone out around midnight. No one could say they didn't get it, so there was really no excuse to be late. The lateness window was about thirty minutes, because he had arrived way earlier than disclosed. His thoughts ran miles ahead, picturing everything he had to say at the meeting. When the scent of cedarwood filled the air, he looked up, knowing his second in command had walked into the room.“Oh you're here early,” Andrei said with his signature bright smile on his face. “How is your arm?” He asked, not stopping to take a seat, but instead standing in front of Vladimir.“Doesn't hurt. Sit.” “Hmmm,” his head doubled back by how direct and brusque Vladimir was being. “Did something happen?” He asked as he took a seat, at his right side.Vladimir c
