My eyes widened slightly in surprise as I looked at her, my eyebrow arching with genuine curiosity. "Why on earth were you searching everywhere for me, Lucy?" I asked, my voice laced with mild suspicion. Lucy let out a light, musical laugh, her eyes twinkling with warmth as she waved her hand dismissively. "I just wanted to drop by and see how you are holding up tonight with all this chaos," she explained, her lips curving into a soft, friendly smile. I smoothed down the front of my red gown, letting out a short, tight breath as I took a half-step back. "Well, as you can see, I am doing completely fine, Lucy," I responded flatly, gesturing toward the crowded ballroom floor. "You can go back to enjoying your night now."
