All Chapters of Knotting the Hunter: Chapter 211 - Chapter 220

Nyasia – Two weeks earlier"Get up," I tell him scathingly. He can’t. I already know that, but it’s good for him to be reminded how much he needs me."Too weak? Then bleed toward the wall, I don’t want to be stepping around puddles every time I need to cross the room."Ezequiel is lying on his side on the concrete, human, as ordered. I’m not wasting time trying to guess at werewolf thoughts. There's a knife wound in his shoulder that goes all the way through. Somebody put a blade in him to the hilt and meant it.His forearm is chewed to the bone, and much of the rest of him speaks of an intense argument with a barb-wire fence.I sent my stray to kill the Alpha for me, and this is how he comes back to me. Task unaccomplished and begging for my help."The one with the knife," he pants. "She'll be dead by now.""Good for her. At least someone accomplished something."He smiles at that, teeth bloody. He thinks I'm joking. It's the voice.I put sweetness on it the way other women put on li

Dax"Mind the floor," the adjuster says, and promptly puts his boot straight through it. Ankle deep.He pulls it out, looks at the black crap on his shoe, and writes something on the clipboard in his hand.Probably "floor."'This was ours,' my wolf says, low and sour. We share the same views on this. Anger with a healthy tinge of heartbreak.I was proud of my business and what I’d accomplished with it in just a few years.Guess we’ll just have to rebuild better. Make the most of this crappy situation and the forced holiday we’re taking. It smells like a campfire somebody pissed on. The gasoline smell is still strong under the wet char, even days later. The hunters walked our fence the morning after Heidi came through the gate. More than a dozen of them spread out in a line like they were looking for a lost dog.Probably shouldn’t insult dogs by comparing them to Wes Corben. The guilt still hasn’t arrived. I’m pretty sure it’s not going to.They went home with nothing.Finn watched fro

Noah"Hold still.""I am holding still.""You're flexing.""I'm lying on a bed. This is just what my arm naturally looks like. I get why you’d think all this bulging and definition has to be flexing, but it’s not."He’s so full of shit. He's flexing, because I've got his wrist in both hands and he can't help performing when anybody looks at him for longer than a second. His golden skin is completely back to normal. Smooth all over. Like the fire never happened. It took the better part of two weeks. Apparently skin takes longer to regenerate than flesh. I wish we never had reason to find that out.I run my forefinger up the inside of his forearm where the worst of it was, and his pulse jumps under it."You checked this morning," he grumbles."I'm checking again. Do you want the cuffs on, or do you want to keep talking?"He shuts up. I already know it won't last.I buckle the leather around his wrist. Snug. He looks at it, then at me, his cock twitching against his stomach."Other one."

Noah"-so the sensor's on its own line now. If the wire goes down, the sensor will still be working. And if anything happens to the sensor, the wire is still up and running. Both would have to break before we're blind, and I'm not letting that happen."'You said my name into the pillow eleven times,' Dax says in my head. In the middle of his Beta's report. 'I counted.'He didn't count. He was busy. He’s guessing and trying to pass it off as fact because he knows I was beyond even knowing the meaning of numbers.I never would have guessed I’d like a bit of spanking.I’m not about to offer myself up for regular punishment or anything like that. I don’t have that particular fetish. But a few hard smacks while being fucked definitely lit my fuse.Finn's been talking for four minutes and I’ve absorbed the word wire. He deserves better than that.Dax is leaning on the counter with his coffee in hand, nodding along like a man who cares deeply about the fence. None of the filth he’s sharing w

Finn"Hold the ladder. Don't shake the ladder. There's a difference, and you're on the wrong side of it.""I'm testing your grip strength," Patricia says from below, giving it another wobble. "Supervising.""You've picked up Noah's material now. That's how packs die."I drive the last screw into the bracket and clip the cable run into it. One more section of fence line that'll scream into my phone if anything so much as breathes on it.It won't fix the thing that actually scares me, but my hands needed a job so my brain can stop producing terrifying scenarios.Working at Apex and busting Dax's balls across a front desk used to keep me busy. But the gym's currently just an empty lot and an insurance file, so the fence gets all this love instead.Yesterday I found out a deer went into solid ground half a mile up this line. I stood next to the dip it left and everything in me screamed to get away as fast and as far as I could. So obviously I marched us all back out here today.Down the l
