Chapter 26 MILA I didn’t expect to wake up on a soft mattress, alive and breathing fine. ‘What time is it? Where am I?’ I questioned mentally with a throbbing headache. Is it possible I’m dead—I recognized this room, this setting. I slept in here last night. Memories flooded in with the realization. What became of my warm moment with a stranger I thought had it rough with life?
