All Chapters of My Roommate & I: Chapter 31 - Chapter 40

LUCAS POVI was finally ready to return to campus. After everything we’d been through, Raihan and I had grown unexpectedly close. Whether we were friends or reluctant partners, I couldn’t quite tell anymore—but one thing was certain: we were in this together. “Damn… you look hot,” Raihan teased.” “Hmm… you don’t look too bad yourself,” I replied. “I’d even say you look cute.” He chuckled. “So, what’s the plan? Should we make breakfast, or are we eating at the campus eatery?” “The eatery,” I answered without hesitation. “I can’t wait to get back to class.” I laughed softly. We walked out of the apartment hand in hand, laughing like a pair of newlyweds. The moment we reached the car, Raihan playfully let go of my hand and hurried around to open the car door for me like a perfect gentleman. “You’re acting suspiciously, Raihan,” I said, arching a brow. “Not at all,” he replied with a grin. “I’m simply being a gentleman… for my partner in crime.” I couldn’t help but laugh as I slid

LUCAS POV The debate dragged on for what felt like forever, each suggestion colliding with another until the room dissolved into overlapping voices and half-finished arguments. Ava wanted something educational, Noah insisted the documentary needed to be entertaining, Ethan argued that anything requiring too much travelling was a waste of time, while Ana kept shooting down every idea with a simple shake of her head. The whiteboard at the front of the discussion room was already cluttered with crossed-out topics, yet none of them seemed worthy of becoming our final project. The excitement we’d walked in with had slowly been replaced by frustration, and judging by the exhausted expressions around the table, everyone was beginning to lose patience. With an exasperated sigh, Ava dropped the marker onto the table and leaned back in her chair. “We’re running in circles,” she muttered, rubbing her forehead. “At this rate, we’ll still be here when the semester ends.” A chorus of groans e

LUCAS POV The corroded iron doors groaned on their hinges as Raihan and I ventured into the abandoned research facility, leaving the rest of the group lingering outside with the equipment. The echo of the rusted metal scraping against itself reverberated through the cavernous hallway before dissolving into an unsettling silence. It was the kind of silence that made you painfully aware of your own breathing. “Don’t wander too far!” Ava called after us, her voice carrying a hint of concern despite her attempt to sound authoritative. Raihan lifted a hand without looking back. “We’ll only have a quick look around.” “Five minutes,” Ethan added. “If you don’t come back, we’re sending Noah.” Noah’s eyes widened. “Excuse me? Why am I always the sacrificial lamb?” “Because you’d complain loud enough for us to find you,” Ana replied with a laugh. Even I managed a smile before following Raihan farther inside. The atmosphere shifted the moment we crossed the threshold. A stale, mil

LUCAS POV By the time the university cars rolled through the wrought-iron gates of Silvercrest, the sun had already given up for the day. Streetlights flickered on one by one along the tree-lined paths, washing the campus in a soft amber that made the whole place feel almost peaceful — a strange, unfair contrast to where we’d just come from. The drive back had been quiet, quieter than I’d expected. Exhaustion had caught up with everyone at once. Even Noah, who’d spent most of the day cracking jokes like it was his job, had gone still, his forehead pressed to the window while Ethan scrolled through the day’s footage beside him without really looking at it. Ava sat with the equipment checklist on her lap, running through it in her head — what needed to go back to the media department, what could wait until morning. Ana had her eyes closed, arms crossed, too worn out to bother with conversation. There’d been too many of us for one car, so we’d split into two — Raihan driving his own

LUCAS Somewhere around noon, Raihan woke up.“Lucas, we literally just had 30 minutes of hot sex and you’re waking me up again, I mumbled.“Lazy boy, do you want to go for another round , he teases.I woke up to sunlight doing something it hadn’t bothered to do in weeks, spilling gold across the sheets as it had somewhere to be, and Raihan already dressed, leaning against the doorframe with his keys spinning around one finger and a grin that meant trouble of the best kind.“Get up,” he said. “We’re leaving campus.”“Leaving to where?”“Outskirts of Chelsea. Get dressed. I’m not telling you twice.”I should have known, from the sheer confidence in his voice, that he’d been planning this for longer than he was letting on.We pulled out through the front gates a little after ten, the windows down, the radio doing that thing where it played three good songs in a row and then ruined the streak with something neither of us could stand. Raihan drummed his fingers against the wheel in a rhyth
