Vanessa's POV Sunlight found me before anything else did, pale gold slipping through the blinds and settling warm against my closed eyes, and I surfaced slowly, the world arriving in soft, unhurried pieces.Ronan sat in the chair beside the bed, asleep, his head tilted back against the wall, one hand tucked loosely into his pocket, the other resting on his knee. The morning light caught the line of his jaw, the dark fall of his lashes against his cheek, and for one unguarded moment before my mind fully caught up with itself, I simply looked at him.He looked younger like this.
