The creature stepped out of the darkness. For several seconds, nobody moved.Even the wind seemed to stop.It was enormous. Its body was covered in black armor that looked as though it had been carved from stone. Golden cracks ran across its chest, glowing with the same strange light that had appeared beneath the earth. Its eyes were completely white. No pupils. No emotion.Just endless, terrifying light.I tightened my grip on my sword.Beside me, Kael raised his.“Stay behind me.”I shook my head.“No.”He glanced at me.“Lira—”“We face it together.”His jaw tightened, but he nodded.Behind us, the ancient wolves began growling. My mother pulled the surviving warriors into formation.“Protect the civilians!”Darius shouted orders. The battlefield quickly turned into chaos.People ran toward the palace.Warriors formed a defensive line. The wolves surrounded the weakest among them. But I couldn't take my eyes off the creature. It looked at me.Then it smiled.“Queen.”Its voice wasn

The light swallowed everything.I couldn't see the palace.I couldn't see the battlefield.I couldn't even see Kael. All I could feel was his hand in mine.Warm.Steady.Real.“Kael?”“I’m here.”His voice was close.I held on tighter.“Don't let go.”“I won't.”The white light around us grew brighter. For one terrifying second, I thought it would tear us apart.Instead, something inside my chest became strangely calm. The heart stopped beating. Not slowly. Not weakly. It simply stopped.I froze.“Kael…”“I feel it too.”“What?”“The bond.”I looked at our hands.Gold and silver light flowed between our fingers. But something else had appeared.White.Pure white. It surrounded both of us like a shield. The first queen's voice reached us through the light.“Don't fight it.”I turned toward her voice.“What's happening?”“You are completing the prophecy.”“I thought the prophecy was about the Heart.”“No.”Her voice was almost a whisper.“The prophecy was about choice.”The light sudden

The eyes opened. Two enormous white eyes stared through the darkness beneath the earth. For a moment, nobody moved.Nobody breathed.Even the gods in the sky seemed to go silent.I held Amara's hand tightly.“What is that?”She didn't answer. Her eyes remained fixed on the crack in the ground. Then a small voice came from beneath us.“Amara.”The little girl shivered.I immediately pulled her behind me.“Stay close.”A deep laugh followed.“You came back.”Amara's fingers tightened around mine.“I never left.”The voice laughed again.“You did.”The ground shook.A hand slowly emerged from the crack. It looked human.Almost.Its skin was pale, almost translucent, with faint golden lines running beneath it.The fingers curled around the edge of the earth. Then a boy pulled himself out.He looked about seventeen. His silver hair fell over his forehead. His skin was unnaturally pale. And his eyes—They were the same white as Amara's.But unlike her innocent expression, his eyes were cold

The symbols beneath Amara and Eli began to glow. One was white. The other was black. They pulsed like two beating hearts beneath the earth.I stared at them, unable to move.“No,” I whispered.Amara looked down at her feet.“What does it mean?”Nobody answered. The first Queen looked as though she had seen a ghost.“The Creator has activated the Choosing.”Kael stepped forward.“Then deactivate it.”“I can’t.”“Why?”“Because the Creator isn’t controlling the symbols anymore.”She looked toward the sky.“The battlefield itself is.”A cold shiver ran down my spine.“What happens if they stand on those symbols?”The first Queen hesitated.“Only one of them will leave.”Amara’s eyes widened.I immediately moved toward her.“No.”Eli stepped between us.“Don’t.”I looked at him.“Don’t what?”“Touch the symbol.”“I wasn’t going to.”“You were.”He looked at the glowing mark beneath Amara.“The moment someone interferes, the battlefield will react.”“Then we destroy it.”Eli shook his head

The rain stopped.Just like that. One second, water was falling around us.The next, every drop froze in the air.I stared at the sky.Something was wrong. The mountains had gone completely silent. No wolves. No warriors. No birds.Nothing.Then the golden light that had disappeared beyond the mountains returned. It rose slowly into the sky.My heart began pounding. The first Queen stepped backward.“No.”Kael moved closer to me.“What is it?”She looked at the light.“The final piece.”“Of the Creator?”“Yes.”The golden light grew brighter. Then it exploded.A shockwave swept across the valley.I grabbed Kael’s arm.Amara screamed.Eli pulled her close. My mother fell to her knees. And when the light finally disappeared, a man stood in the middle of the battlefield. He looked completely human.Dark hair.Pale skin.Golden eyes.A simple black coat.No crown. No armor. No weapon. That frightened me more than anything. The Creator had chosen a human form.He looked around. Then smiled
