CHAPTER 12 MERISThe boutique doors swung open with a soft chime, and I was immediately hit by the scent of expensive clothing and the designer perfume. Rafael's hand was surprisingly at the small of my back, guiding me inside like I was some precious artifact he needed to protect. My mouth nearly dropped open at the arrays of clothes elegantly arranged throughout the store, their prices looked like something my bank account would not have dream of.'This is insane,' I thought, watching Rafael nod to the store manager who approached us with the kind of smile reserved for customers who could buy the entire store without blinking."Mr. Belmont," the woman purred, "we're honored to have you back.""I need the best of your very best, the ones which are highly exclusive and it's designs are made for a single person." Rafael said, ignoring her words. I saw the lady's eyes light up to stare at me, the questioning look on her face was undeniable."Umm sure Alpha. Right away. Let me show you

CHAPTER 14RAFAELI watched her leave for the café, then quickly focused back on my phone, staring at the screen which shone brightly in front of me.It was a message from the nurses regarding Meris's mother."We want to get permission to proceed with using magical elements in order to stabilize her oxygen and help reawaken her wolf. This is a safe and fastest process to heal her, not just with clinical procedures."The message read. I pinched the bridge of my nose. For a second, I wondered if she would want her mother to be treated with magic."Yes, and ensure she's okay in less than one week, and ensure this is completely safe. Any mistake, then know that's the end of your life."I typed, sending the message, my head hitting the headrest as my fist clenched against the phone with intense pressure."Meris... You make me so selfish."I whispered, a dark chuckle escaping from my lips. Then, my phone vibrated again. It was from Seth. I frowned, wondering why my Beta was calling me when

CHAPTER 16MERIS The party went in a blur, werewolves from different packs came to honor the alpha chairman to be, talking about business, and they didn't even give me a single glance.Like I wasn't important... and I didn't like that feeling. I ached to wipe those smirks from their faces the moment I officially started working for Belmont's company and got to show them how intellectual I was.'They'll see,' my wolf growled. 'They'll all fucking see.'"Princess..." Rafael whispered. I hadn't noticed him standing up as he stretched his hand toward me. By then, I noticed people staring in our direction…they still found it unreal to see Rafael in their midst, and how his face remained cold toward them. His alpha aura was enough to make them cower at his presence, and only the strong-hearted approached him."Do you care for a dance?"His hand still stretched toward mine, and I nodded, taking it as he led me to the dance floor. The moment we stepped onto the polished marble, every convers

Chapter 18A Place That Feels Like HomeMeris POVI opened my eyes slowly, the sun warm on my cheeks and the soft wind brushing the curtains where it seeped through. I lay still for a moment, my heart beating softly, nothing like the racing mess it had been for days.I sat up, rubbing my eyes, staring at the tall carved walls and polished wooden floors that were not mine. I did not know where I was, and for a second, panic pricked at my chest. Then it all rushed back, loud and bright…the crowd, the cameras, Rafael's hand holding tightly to mine, Connor's face pale and broken as he turned away.I sank back into the soft pillows, pressing my face into the fabric, my throat tight."How did everything become so tangled so fast? How did life end up here?"A soft knock pulled me from my thoughts. The door opened and a maid stepped inside, her smile gentle, as though she was afraid to startle me."Good morning, Miss Meris. Alpha Rafael said breakfast is ready whenever you are comfortable. Ta

CHAPTER 20: Belmont CompaniesMERIS POVThe sleek glass doors of Belmont Companies slid open the moment I stepped closer.A rush of cool air brushed against my face, carrying the faint scent of polished wood and freshly brewed coffee. I paused for the briefest second, taking in the towering lobby before forcing my feet to move again. The place was beautiful.Morning sunlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, washing the white marble floor in a warm golden glow. Employees crossed the lobby with purpose, some holding laptops, others balancing coffee cups while discussing schedules and meetings. The silver Belmont logo stretched across the wall behind the reception desk, elegant and impossible to miss. Everything about the building whispered power. For a moment, I wondered if I truly belonged here. Then I remembered why I had come. Not because I was Rafael Belmont's fiancée. Not because of our contract.Even when Rafael wanted to help me, I had declined his help because I wan
