Lily woke up slowly. She felt warm for the first time in days. Jax’s strong arm was around her waist. His bare chest pressed against her back. Their legs were mixed together under the thick blanket. She could feel his heart beating steady against her.She moved a little, and Jax woke up right away. His hand slid over her stomach and moved higher. He cupped her breast through her thin top. His thumb rubbed her nipple until it got hard. Lily’s body got hot fast. She pushed back against him and felt how hard he was between her legs.“Morning,” he said in a low, rough voice. He kissed her neck and pulled her closer. “Stay right here. I want to feel all of you.”Lily breathed fast. Heat filled her body. Jax turned her to face him and kissed her deep. Their tongues touched. The kiss got hotter. His hand went under her shirt and touched her bare skin. He squeezed her breast and rolled his hips against her. She could feel his hard cock pressing right between her legs through their clothes. Sh

The snow kept falling, soft and endless, like it wanted to bury us. My legs burned with every step, but I kept moving. We all did.Jax leaned heavily on my shoulder, his breath coming in short, painful puffs. The gunshot wound in his side had started bleeding again through the makeshift bandage. I could feel the warmth of the blood soaking into my coat where he leaned against me."Jax, please... slow down," I whispered. He shook his head, his jaw tight."I'm not leaving you, Lily. Not ever."His voice was rough, weaker than yesterday, but the love in it still touched my heart. I slipped my arm tighter around his waist, trying to carry more of his weight. The cold wind cut across our faces. My fingers were numb. My stomach hurt with hunger. We had not eaten since we escaped the cabin.Jimmy walked in front, making a path through the deep snow. Mark stayed behind us, watching the trees every few seconds, afraid The Shadow's men might appear again.Every few minutes, Jax stumbled.I caug

We pushed through the trees as fast as we could. Snow flew into my eyes and clung to my lashes. The shouts behind us grew louder, bouncing through the woods. Jax leaned hard on me, his steps dragging more with every minute. I kept my arm locked around his waist, trying to help him keep up without saying anything that would make him feel worse."Left, up that ridge," Reyes called from behind us. "They don't like going that way. It's too steep for the trucks."Jimmy didn't argue. He simply changed direction, rifle ready in his hands. Mark stayed close to Reyes, watching him the whole time. Nobody trusted him yet, but right now we didn't have many choices.Jax's breathing grew heavier. I felt him stumble and quickly held him tighter."I've got you," I whispered. He didn't answer. He only squeezed my hand before we both needed our hands to climb the snowy hill. His fingers were cold, but they held mine like he never wanted to let go.The ground became rough. Hidden rocks and tree roots la

The generator hummed softly through the bunker. After days of running through snow and hiding in the woods, the steady sound felt almost peaceful. We had found a small room off the main hallway. It held two old cots, a wooden table, and a few dusty chairs.Jimmy made Jax sit down while I stayed beside him, my hand resting on his knee."You lost more blood," Jimmy said as he opened the first-aid kit. "Let's clean this properly."Jax gave a weak smile."It's just a scratch."Jimmy raised an eyebrow."I've seen scratches. This isn't one of them."Jax laughed quietly."I've had worse shaving."Usually I would have smiled. This time I couldn't.Watching Jimmy remove the old bandage made my chest ache. The wound still looked angry and swollen.I quickly looked away before the tears could fall."Hey."Jax gently lifted my chin until I looked back at him."I'm still here."He smiled softly."I'm sitting in some strange underground bunker with you.""I've been in worse places."His thumb brush

The beeping grew louder, like a countdown we couldn't see.Jimmy walked toward the hallway. "We need to move. Now."Mark grabbed some of the files off the desk. "There's a side door at the end of this room. It looked like storage."We didn't wait.Jax kept his arm around me as we ran, the sealed envelope tucked safely inside my jacket. My heart pounded against it with every step. The lights flickered again, then half of them died, throwing long shadows across the bunker.Reyes reached the side door first and shoved it open.We rushed inside just as a louder alarm echoed through the underground halls. The room was small, barely big enough for the five of us, with rusted metal shelves and dusty supply boxes stacked against the walls.Jimmy slammed the door shut behind us.A heavy click echoed through the room.Reyes tried the handle."It won't open from this side without a code."Jimmy nodded."Fine. We stay quiet until we know what's happening."The alarms continued outside, muffled b
