Tania frowned. She turned to glance at Ethan, who immediately realized what he had said and avoided her eyes. She slowly shifted her gaze to Carlos, who wasn't even looking back at her; his eyes were on Ethan, an amused smirk on his face."I'll accept whatever terms your company decides to add..." He shrugged casually, his eyes still on Ethan, "...as long as he delivers it himself."Tania's frown deepened. This was a business negotiation; what sane businessman would willingly accept whatever terms just because an employee delivered the documents? Before she could ask anything, Carlos picked up his jacket,“I'll see you next time,” he said and walked out, his PA behind him.Tania remained rooted to where she was standing, trying to make sense of everything that had happened.Ethan, on the other hand, looked as though he wasn't breathing, with how still he was. He bent his head down, avoiding Tania's eyes, and suddenly found the floor interesting.Tania spared him one last glance, an

Ethan's eyes almost popped out of their sockets; his confidence flew out the window. "Wh-at?" "I said..." Carlos leaned in closer, his breath fanning Ethan's face, "...I'll kiss you." He completed it as if he had just said the most normal thing in the world."Get off me!" Ethan pushed him, but he didn't budge."Open the phone...""Fine..." Ethan dragged in a deep breath. "I'll give you my contact." He gave in.'Good boy." Carlos smiled before moving away. "Don't even think of running." He warned as if he had just read Ethan's mind.Ethan snatched his phone from him, eyeing him angrily before stretching out his hand for Carlos' own phone. Carlos placed it on his palm with a pleased smile. After a few seconds, Ethan returned the phone to him. He straightened his suit, grabbed his file, and turned to leave."Not so soon, pretty boy." Carlos' voice stopped him again."What now?" Ethan snapped, stamping his foot on the floor. Carlos smiled before showing his screen to Ethan; he was diali

Ethan felt like jumping and screaming, but he stopped himself. "Not yet." He muttered. He bit his fingernail, seeming to think before he finally decided to text a saved number on his phone, the same number he had texted earlier. After he got his reply, he smiled, put his phone away and lay on the bed, covering himself with a blanket before muttering, "Let the countdown begin." —NEXT DAY, V. JEWELS— The moment Ethan entered their department, Owen practically flew to him."I received my payment yesterday. Damn, I'm rich!" He squealed like a child."Yeah, me too," Ethan replied."I'm gonna get myself a car, a house, an estate, a villa....""Owen, can you stop exaggerating?" Ethan laughed."Okay, okay, fine, just a car." Owen rolled his eyes before joining Ethan in laughing."But seriously, the pay is good," Owen said."Yeah." Ethan nodded, and they both went to work. —THORN GROUP— Aiden walked into the company head high. The staff looked at him with hate i

—3:00P.M— Ethan threw on a casual purple hoodie and grey sweatpants. He stared at himself in the mirror and shrugged at the casualness in it. "Not like I'm going on a date."He grabbed his phone and saw the text Carlos had sent. He checked the location, grabbed his car keys and walked out of his room. He walked into the living room and saw Aiden smuggle up in Lucien's arms on the couch. He rolled his eyes and walked past them, flinging his keys playfully."And where to?" Lucien asked."Going out," Ethan said, not looking back at them."I can see you are going out; the question is where...to....?" Lucien growled."To a place," Ethan replied calmly."Are you fucking with me?!! I said Where the fuck are you going to?!!!" Lucien yelled, slamming his palm on the couch."Lucien...." Ethan turned calmly, "...you should focus on your boy toy on your lap..." His eyes settled on Aiden, "...he might threaten to leave again." He added and walked out, slamming the door

—THE NEXT DAY— Ethan made sure to ignore both Aiden and Lucien that morning as he got dressed for work. As he walked into the sitting room, he saw Aiden walking out of the kitchen, a mug of freshly brewed coffee in hand. Ethan’s subconscious mind told him to move out of the way once Aiden was close, and he did.Apparently, Aiden’s quietness didn’t sit right with Ethan; he knew Aiden wouldn’t remain silent, especially after last night. And luckily, he caught that same smug smile that Aiden always has on his face when he’s about to do something.“Good morning, Ethan, about yesterday…” Aiden began stepping closer, and just as he threw himself forward to carry out his plan, Ethan saw through his scheme and moved aside, making Aiden trip for real, and the hot coffee spill on his arm instead of Ethan.Ethan stared down at him with a blank expression. “Good morning to you too.” He said, and then turned to walk out, when Lucien’s voice stopped him from upstairs.“Ethan!!
