Four years of marriage and waking up beside Jason is still my favorite part of the mornings. Last night was one of those nights that would Keep me distracted all day. I turned to face Jason, I couldn’t help but admire how good he looked. His lashes, his almond shaped lip, his smooth skin everything felt so perfect. I wished time could take me back to those moments when we went out on dates and spent more time on each other.Because that was one thing I missed about us. Jason finally woke up and without even checking if he was still breathing, he drew closer to me pressing one arm on the bed and grabbing my thin waist with the other hand . “Good morning my princess.” He gave me a French kiss. I knew that my day was already going to be great because he didn’t stop there. He took off the duvet that was covering my naked body and couldn’t help but admire how clean I was. He continued to kiss me but I had to stop him half way to remind him that I had to leave for work

“Finally,” he said, rising to his feet. “I’ve been waiting for you.”I sighed, already feeling a headache coming.“Dr Ryan… what are you doing here?”“What does it look like?”“It looks like you’re trespassing.”He chuckled.“I prefer the word visiting.”I walked past him and placed Ethan’s medical file on my desk.“If you’re here to flirt again, save your energy. I have charts to finish.”“I wasn’t flirting.”I paused and looked at him.“Oh?”“I came to return your novel”. “Was packing it in a gift box necessary”. Reading has always been my escape. After long, exhausting shifts at the hospital, nothing calmed my mind more than getting lost in a good romance novel. That was exactly why I’d lent Ryan my copy of Fifty Shades of Grey—not because I wanted to, but because he’d begged me for weeks.I blinked.“Ryan—”Before I could finish, he picked up the Novel and walked toward me.“Please don’t.”“You haven’t even heard me out.”“I don’t need to.”“I’m in love with you, Aurora.”

I struggled to carry Jason to our room after he passed out on the couch. I placed him down, undressed him and put him in a comfortable position to sleep. I laid down beside him.Sleep never came.I had lost count of how many times I’d turned over in bed, hoping exhaustion would eventually win. Every time I closed my eyes, Jessica’s hesitant voice drifted back into my mind. Then Jason’s cold expression from the night before replaced it.The words hurt far more than I wanted to admit.*************** ********** *************I reached across the bed instinctively. The other side was empty.Cold.My eyes snapped open.“Jason?”Only silence answered.I pushed myself upright and glanced at the clock.8:12 a.m.My heart skipped.Jason never left without kissing me goodbye.Never.He always woke me up to know how my night was no matter how late he was running. The thought of not waking up beside him bothered me, I’m starting to get worked up about what happened. In just few seconds my phon

He was standing a few feet away, his expression unreadable. His eyes moved from Ryan… To me… Then back to Ryan again. For a brief moment, none of us spoke. Ryan was the first to break the silence He stepped forward politely and stretched out his hand. “Good evening. I’m Ryan Cole. Aurora and I work together at pacific crest”. Jason didn’t even look at his hand. Instead… His eyes remained fixed on me. “So this is where you’ve been.” I frowned. “What do you mean?” “I’ve been looking for you.” “I only stepped outside for some fresh air.” His gaze shifted briefly to Ryan before returning to me. “You seem to be enjoying yourself.” I didn’t like the tone in his voice. “We were just talking.” “I can see that.” Ryan immediately sensed the tension. “I think I’ll leave you both to—” “No.” The both of us jinxed. Jason’s voice was cold. “Stay.” Ryan looked uncomfortable. I took a small step closer to Jason. “What’s wrong?” He let out a dry laugh. “Nothing.” “It

I didn’t remember how I left Jason’s office. One minute, dozens of people were staring at me with disgust. The next, I was walking through the company’s lobby with tears streaming uncontrollably down my face.No one stopped me.No one asked if I was okay. Some employees whispered as I passed.Others openly pointed at me.“That’s her.”“The cheating wife.”“I heard she couldn’t even have children.”“What a shame…”Every word felt like another knife sinking into my chest.I wrapped my arms around myself, wishing the ground would open and swallow me whole.By the time I stepped outside, I could barely breathe. The bright afternoon sun felt painfully out of place. How could the world continue as though mine hadn’t just ended? My trembling fingers searched through my purse until I found my phone. There was only one person I wanted to call.Jessica.The phone rang once.Twice.She answered almost immediately.“Aurora?”The moment I heard her voice, I broke.“Jess…”A sob escaped my lips.“I
