Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Girl with the Violet Eyes : Kabanata 61 - Kabanata 70

Aria’s POV:I woke up warm. That was the first thing I noticed. The second was the arm wrapped securely around my waist. I smiled before I even opened my eyes. The memory of last night came rushing back, followed by the strange, beautiful feeling that still hummed beneath my skin. The bond. My mate. I turned slowly in his arms. His silver hair was a mess against the pillow, and for once, the effortlessly perfect fae heir looked completely human. His eyes opened. The second he saw me, he smiled.“Good morning, little nightmare.”I laughed softly. “Good morning.”He pulled me closer. I settled against his chest. We didn’t speak for a while. We didn’t need to. I could feel the warmth of his emotions through the bond. His happiness. His disbelief. His overwhelming affection. It was almost dizzying.“You’re really my mate,” I whispered. His fingers traced slowly along my arm.“You’re really mine.”Something fluttered in my chest. I smiled brightly. “That still sounds strange.”“Good stran

Aria’s POV:I told myself I wasn’t going to go to Archer. Then I found myself standing outside his door again. I stared at the wood for several seconds, fighting the urge to knock. Things had changed. Jasper was my mate now. That fact was still so new that sometimes I caught myself forgetting and then remembering all over again.I couldn’t keep pretending my relationship with Archer hadn’t changed too. Whatever existed between us couldn’t continue the way it had before. If I was going to keep coming to him, there had to be boundaries. I raised my hand and knocked. The door opened almost immediately. Archer stood there, looking at me like he’d been expecting me.“Wildfire.”“I need to talk to you.” His expression shifted.“Come in.” I stepped inside. The door closed behind me. He stood there silently waiting for me to say something. Then I looked directly at him.“I’m still hungry.”His jaw tightened. “I know.”“I don’t want this to become something it shouldn’t.”His eyes narrowed sli

Aria’s POV: Something was wrong with Lucien. I knew it the moment I saw him. He was standing near the entrance to the cafeteria, talking with another vampire when I walked in.Normally, his eyes would find me immediately. Normally, he’d smile. He’d call me little one. Today, he barely looked at me. I told myself not to care. I failed miserably. I walked toward him anyway.“Lucien.”His eyes finally met mine. “Aria.”Just my name. There was no warmth in his voice anymore. No teasing me until I was blushing. Nothing at all. “Are you okay?”“I’m fine.” He stepped around me.I turned. “Wait.”He stopped but didn’t face me. “Did I do something?”His shoulders tightened. “No.”“Then why are you doing this?” He was silent.I moved in front of him. “Lucien.”He finally looked at me. His eyes were filled with something I couldn’t identify. Pain, maybe.“Nothing is wrong.”“You’re lying.”His jaw tightened. “I have class.”Then he walked away. I stood there watching him until he disappeared

Aria’s POV:I ran until I couldn’t hear the academy anymore. I didn’t know where I was going. I didn’t care. All I knew was that I needed to get away.Away from the students. Away from the whispers. Away from Archer. Away from the terrified look on everyone’s faces when my power had exploded through the courtyard. Most of all, I needed to get away from myself. My feet carried me deeper into the forest until the trees became thicker and the sounds of the academy disappeared completely. Eventually, I stumbled into a clearing.A lake stretched out before me. It was unlike anything I’d ever seen. The water was so clear it almost looked like crystal, reflecting the moonlight in shimmering silver waves. Strange glowing flowers grew along the shoreline, their soft light dancing across the surface. For a moment, I simply stared. Then my knees gave out. I sank onto the grass beside the water and pulled my knees against my chest. The tears came before I could stop them. I buried my face in my h

Lucien’s POV:I had been searching for her for hours. The forest was enormous, and every minute I spent without finding Aria made the knot in my chest tighten. She hadn’t been in the library. She wasn’t in the training field. She wasn’t in the cafeteria. I’d checked the places I knew she liked to disappear to when she needed to think.Nothing. I told myself she was fine. I told myself Jasper had probably found her. I told myself I needed to stop worrying. None of it worked. I was halfway down the eastern corridor when I heard voices coming from one of the rooms ahead. I slowed. The door wasn’t completely closed. I recognized one of the voices immediately. Elder Varrick. My expression hardened. He was one of the Council members who had never trusted Aria. I’d heard him question her presence at Ebonveil more than once.I should have kept walking. Instead, I stopped.“… before she becomes a bigger problem.” My blood ran cold.I moved closer. Varrick was speaking on the phone.“I’ve alrea
