Help! I’m in love with my best friend’s dad. Javed realized this inconvenient truth while standing in David’s kitchen and watching Martin walk in after his morning swim, water dripping down his bare chest. It wasn’t just a passing realization; it was a physical blow that knocked the air straight out of his lungs. Javed stood frozen by the marble-topped kitchen island, a half-filled mug of coffee forgotten in his hand. Through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors that opened to the private dock, the morning sun caught the ripples of the lake, painting the kitchen in shimmering, golden light. But Javed wasn’t looking at the lake. He was staring at Martin Cole. Martin was forty-five years old, and he was, without a doubt, the most devastating man Javed had ever laid eyes on. He was built like a statue carved from granite—broad-shouldered, narrow-hipped, with a chest covered in a light dusting of dark hair that trailed down into a dangerously low-slung pair of grey swim trunks. Droplets o

Javed’s thumb hovered over the screen, his heart hammering a frantic rhythm against his ribs. He didn’t need to ask who the text was from. There was only one person in this massive, silent house who would command him with such quiet, absolute authority.Come to my office. Now.Javed swallowed hard, his throat dry. He looked down at his grey sleep shorts and soft white t-shirt. He should change. He should put on something more formal, something that didn’t make him feel so exposed. But the sheer urgency pooling in his stomach wouldn't let him wait.Barefoot, he slipped out of his bedroom and into the dimly lit hallway. The mansion was completely dark, save for the pale moonlight filtering through the high windows. Every creak of the floorboards sounded like a gunshot to Javed's hyper-alert senses. He made his way down the grand staircase, his hand sliding along the cold iron railing. At the end of the corridor, a thin sliver of warm, amber light spilled from beneath the heavy oak door

The echo of Martin’s confession hung in the cramped, shadowed space of the sports car, thick and suffocating. For a second, neither of them breathed. The engine hummed low beneath the floorboards, a quiet vibration that mirrored the frantic racing of Javed’s pulse. Then, as if waking from a trance, Martin blinked. The fierce, unhinged heat in his eyes flickered, replaced instantly by a wave of stark, icy panic. He ripped himself away, backing across the center console until his spine slammed against the driver’s side door. He gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned a ghostly white, his chest heaving as he stared straight through the windshield into the dark night. "Forget I said that," Martin growled, his voice tight, stripped of the raw emotion from a moment before. "I am out of line. The adrenaline from the restaurant... seeing that man put his hands on you... it clouded my judgment. Put your seatbelt back on, Javed. We’re going home." "No," Javed said, his voice

The brass door handle rattled violently, the sound echoing like thunder in the cramped storage room.Javed froze, his breath catching in his throat. Martin’s large hand instantly flew to Javed’s mouth, his fingers warm and firm against his lips, silently demanding absolute stillness. Martin threw his own weight forward, pinning Javed flat against the metal shelving, using his massive frame to shield him completely from view if the door somehow gave way."Javed? Dad?" David’s muffled voice called out from the hallway, accompanied by another impatient jiggle of the handle. "Liam said you guys came down this way to check the linens. Why is the door locked?"Javed’s heart hammered so hard against his ribs he was certain Martin could feel the vibrations through his chest. He stared up into Martin’s dark eyes, seeing a reflection of his own sheer panic. Martin’s jaw was clamped tight, his eyes fixed on the locked door handle as it moved up and down one last time."Must be jammed," David mut

Javed had made it back to his bedroom with less than thirty seconds to spare. He had thrown himself into bed, heart pounding against his ribs like a trapped bird, just as the heavy thud of David’s boots echoed up the grand staircase. That frantic morning set the brutal, exhilarating pace for the days that followed. They were living a lie, but it was the most intoxicating truth Javed had ever known. Crossing the line during the storm hadn't extinguished the fire between them; it had poured gasoline over the embers. What began as a forbidden slip in the dark transformed into a quiet, relentless secret affair conducted right under David’s nose. The mansion, once a sprawling sanctuary, became a minefield of high-stakes desire. It started at the formal dinner table two nights after the storm. David was rambling endlessly about the catering logistics, gesturing with his fork as he detailed the wine pairings for the gala’s VIP guests."Dad, we need to decide on the dessert wine by tomorrow,"
