All Chapters of The Alpha Cursed Luna: Chapter 51 - Chapter 60

Damien's POV Mackenzie gathered the same familiar group in the archive room that evening—Eze, Dara, and I, with Kai and Timi joining given their direct involvement in the day's crisis—the weight of the ambush's implications settling heavy across the assembled table. "Explain to me exactly what you felt," Mackenzie said, addressing Dara directly, her tone carrying careful, focused attention. "As precisely as you can manage, however strange or difficult to articulate." Dara considered the question seriously, visibly working to translate an unfamiliar experience into coherent language. "It was sharper than the warmth exercise. It was more urgent, almost aggressive in how it demanded attention. I didn't consciously reach for it the way Eze taught me to reach for the training warmth. It simply arrived, unbidden, the moment genuine danger threatened." "Instinctive rather than deliberate," Eze said, something both concerned and fascinated in his voice. "That's significant, Mackenzie. Mos

Damien's POV I found my mother in the same garden where she'd offered Dara her formal amends weeks earlier, tending once more to her moonflowers with the same quiet, deliberate care that had become, I'd noticed, her preferred method of processing difficult emotions. "You should be resting," she observed, echoing the same gentle admonishment I'd offered Dara only days before. "Restoration preparation is demanding, even for those not directly undergoing the ritual." "I couldn't sleep." I settled onto the garden bench, watching her work with unexpected tenderness. "I wanted to talk with you, actually, before tomorrow's preparation properly begins." She set aside her gardening tools, giving me her full attention. "About what, specifically?" "About us," I said honestly. "It's about whether we're actually finding our way back to something genuine or whether I'm simply grateful enough for your recent changes that I'm not examining them carefully enough." Something vulnerable crossed he

Dara's POV I woke before dawn, the restoration's reality settling fully into my chest for the first time since agreeing to proceed despite the Unbound's threat, equal parts terror and fierce, unwavering resolve building steady beneath my ribs. Chidi was already awake when I emerged from my chamber, having apparently anticipated my early rising, with two cups of tea waiting on the small table near the window overlooking the pack house grounds. "Couldn't sleep either?" she asked, offering a cup as I settled across from her. "Not really." I wrapped both hands around the warm mug, grateful for its solid, grounding presence. "Too much to think about, I suppose. The ceremony, the danger, and everything riding on today going according to plan rather than however the Unbound might attempt to disrupt it." "You don't have to carry all of that alone, you know." Chidi's voice carried gentle firmness. "Whatever happens today, you have an entire circle of people determined to protect you and s

Damien's POV I was at her side before conscious thought fully caught up with instinct, gathering her still form against my chest, terror sharper and more immediate than anything the curse's black veins had ever managed to instill in me. "Dara!" Her name tore from my throat, raw with fear, as I searched frantically for any sign of breathing, of pulse, of anything beyond the frightening stillness that had overtaken her only moments after restoration's brilliant, overwhelming success. "She's breathing," Mackenzie confirmed, dropping to her knees beside us despite the battle still raging at the clearing's edges, her hands moving with practiced urgency across Dara's still form. "Pulse steady, though weak. This looks like exhaustion, Alpha, not immediate danger—" "Ayo," Eze breathed, horror evident in his voice as he joined us, understanding dawning with sick, immediate clarity. "This is what happened to Ayo, isn't it? The mending, or something adjacent to it—" "I don't know," Mackenzi

Dara's POV Recovery came slowly over the following days, strength gradually returning to limbs that had felt impossibly heavy in those first disoriented hours after waking, though something felt undeniably different beneath the familiar exhaustion—a quiet, steady hum settled deep in my chest that hadn't existed before the ceremony. "How do you feel today?" Mackenzie asked during her now-routine morning check, her careful assessment continuing despite my steadily improving condition. "Stronger," I said honestly, sitting up without the dizziness that had plagued my first attempts. "But also different, somehow. Like something settled into place that wasn't there before." Mackenzie's expression sharpened with focused attention. "Different how, specifically?" I considered the question carefully, trying to translate the unfamiliar sensation into coherent language. "I can feel Damien," I said finally. "Not simply proximity easing symptoms, the way it worked before restoration. Something
