"Mom!" Alex rushed toward the hidden doorway, but David grabbed his arm."Wait," David warned. "We don't know what's waiting for us down there.""My mother is down there!" Alex pulled free.David turned to his officers. "Find the entrance."As the officers searched the walls, Javier stood beside Alex. "She's alive. We heard her, and we're going to get her."David examined the old fireplace. "There has to be a mechanism."Alex surveyed the room's old furniture, portraits, bookshelves, and wooden cabinet, noticing that the portrait of Kendall hung slightly crooked. He walked over and moved the frame sideways until a faint click echoed through the room. Beside them, the bookshelf slid open to reveal a narrow, hidden staircase.David drew his weapon. "Stay behind me.""I'm coming," Alex insisted."So am I," Javier added, stepping forward.Alex looked at her. "No. Stay here.""I'm your wife, and I'm not letting you walk into danger alone," she replied firmly.Alex nodded. "Sta

"You're saying my birth certificate is a contract?" Alex stared at his father in disbelief.Kendall nodded gravely. "Not an ordinary contract—a succession contract for the Genesis Trust.""What's the Genesis Trust?" David asked, stepping closer."Something your grandfather created before I took over Swan Group to control the family's private assets," Kendall sighed."That doesn't explain why Daniel wants it," Alex said, shaking his head."Because Daniel believes it belongs to him," Kendall replied. When Javier asked why, Kendall fell silent until Alex's patience finally snapped. "Dad, enough. You've kept secrets from me my entire life. My mother disappeared, Daniel supposedly died, and now you're telling me my birth certificate is some kind of key. I want the truth."Kendall nodded. "Then you need to hear everything."He walked over to an old metal cabinet, pulled out a thick folder labeled GENESIS, and placed it on the table. Inside were financial documents, property record

Alex stared at the armed men surrounding him, keeping himself firmly between them and his mother."Put the contract down," Daniel ordered with a calm smile.Alex tightened his grip. "First, tell me what this is."When Daniel refused to answer directly, Alex turned to his weeping mother. "Mom, what is he talking about?""I wanted to tell you," Evelyn sobbed."Because the truth would destroy everything you believe about your family," Daniel interrupted coldly. Pressing a button, he lowered a massive screen from the ceiling displaying old footage of a young Kendall, Evelyn, and Daniel inside this very facility.Alex watched the video in shock as a younger Kendall argued over documents, complaining that his father had promised the company to an unborn child named Alex. The screen shifted to show a pregnant Evelyn."Your mother was pregnant when Genesis was activated," Daniel explained. "It was a successor system created by your grandfather before you were born because he believ

"We're wasting time—show me," Alex demanded, his voice slicing through the frantic hum of the server banks as the red warning light bathed the chamber in a sickening crimson. The countdown on the central terminal ticked down mercilessly: 03:58... 03:57...Camille didn't hesitate, leading him toward a sleek, metallic scanner mounted beside the reinforced steel escape door. Alex jammed his hand against the glass plate, but a harsh buzzer echoed through the room as a bold banner flashed across the interface: IDENTIFICATION FAILED."Your blood," Camille urged, pointing to a sharp, hidden needle recessed beneath the glass panel. "The security protocol is hardwired into the family line. The system needs an actual blood sample.""I've spent thirty years trying to keep you away from Genesis!" Kendall shouted, rushing forward and grabbing his son's arm with a vice-like grip. "If you do this, you bind yourself to it forever!""And now you're going to let me die because you're afraid of

Alex’s pulse hammered against his ribs as he stared at the woman standing beside the idling black SUV. Rain slicked the pavement, reflecting the harsh yellow glare of the streetlights. She clutched a newborn tightly against her chest, her knuckles pale. Instinctively, Javier’s hand moved to her stomach, her shoulders tensing beside him."Put the baby down," Alex demanded, his voice dangerously quiet as he took a rigid step forward."Relax, I'm not here to hurt him," the woman replied, her calm demeanor unnerving against the backdrop of the stormy night. "I brought him because he's already been marked by everyone—he was born with the same genetic marker as you."Tires screeched as David’s sedan pulled up to the curb. He slammed his door open, weapon drawn and raised to eye level. "Step away from the vehicle! Hands where I can see them! Who are you?""My name is Rebecca, and this is Noah," she answered without flinching, turning slightly so the soft dimple of the baby's cheek was
