All Chapters of Awakened for Revenge-marrying my ex fiancés brother: Chapter 1 - Chapter 10

Ariana’s POV I didn’t linger more than necessary, I had heard enough. I quietly forced my legs to move, and stood up quietly from behind the sofa. I was nearly to the ground, my head splitting with pain. With shaky legs and tears brimmed full enough that my vision is a blur, I headed up the stairs to my room, picked up my car keys and found my way out of the house. I was foolish enough to fall for his schemes and get crushed by his lies but I certainly wasn’t that foolish to go confront him and ask why he wanted to kill me to be with my sister. There was no coming back from this. I needed to leave and I needed to leave now. Who knew when their plan to kill me would begin. I got to my car and for a moment I could not move. I gripped hard at the wheels until I couldn’t feel any circulation on my fingers. I didn’t even know where to go. I had nowhere to go. I would have gone to my sister but I couldn't. Not when she was the supporting party of the plan to kill me, for reason

Ariana’s POVAfter long treacherous days of listening to Slimy Matt and Sleazy Angeline in the hospital room, I finally came to.Along the line, my parents came to check up on me. All the more reasons, I mustn’t die. Not yet.My mother sobbing comes to mind, “Ariana, please come back.” It broke my heart to hear her so distraught. I couldn’t even wake to comfort her or assure her that it’s okay. Honestly, she might have been the stimulation I needed to wake up. My mother, Millie Croft has always been a soft hearted woman, empathetic but very observant. I was reminded of the time I had my first heartbreak, my school crush and first kiss back in sixth grade, Finn Jett, was avoiding me, hanging out with the class meanie, Lizzie Groza.I was so distraught and heartbroken, I came home crying like I’d witnessed a bloody murder. When my mum found me, I remember her hugs and her sweet words. She had said, “Ari, I understand how you’re feeling right now, but honey, it is not worth it,” pullin

Zane’s POV “She’s not dead yet. You twat. You couldn’t do the one thing I asked you to do right,” her douchebag fiancé snapped into the phone from across the hospital parking lot. I froze at his voice. Matt Lockwood. First-grade idiot. It didn't help that the fool shared half my DNA. How that came to be was a story for another time. How he’d managed to land a fiancée like her was still a mystery to me. He was a big-time asshole, and I’m not even being biased. I wasn’t a saint, but even I had my limits. He leaned against his car door, completely at ease, smoking his joint. His lips curled and I felt a wave of disgust and rage ripple through me. “She’s a stubborn little mutt now, isn’t she? Hanging onto life so desperately,” he said, lowering his voice as he scanned the lot. He couldn’t have noticed me. I was parked quietly in my blacked-out SUV, right beside his car. I’d managed to avoid him inside the hospital. If he found out I was the one who pulled Ari from the wreckag

Ariana’s POVThe muted voice of the pilot bounced off the sides of my ears as I peered down through the window of my seat.I was discharged after two days, assigned proper monitoring. My mother came along, making sure everything was checked out before my discharge.Father could not fly over due to work so here I was in our private plane, heading back home from the city I’d once built my life and hopes in.The place I had dreamed of building my own family, with Matt. The thought of him left a bitter taste in my mouth. All I could think of was how to ruin him, how to destroy him as brutally as he did me.Hence, why my mind drifted to the pair of green grey eyes and his absurd proposal. One that weighed heavily in my mind as time passed. I knew the answer was to say no. That should be the right answer, the only answer, the logical one.It would be extremely foolish of me to put my trust in another Lockwood brother but nothing about him reminded me of his dumb brother. His eyes, althoug

Ariana’s POVWith the proposal with Zane finally settled, I finally made it downstairs. Father was sprawled, cross legged on the sofa, his head behind a magazine.“You’re here.” He said simply without even looking in my direction.I trudged forward to his left side, taking a seat on the sofa. “Hello to you too.” I deadpanned. He glimpsed at my frame then, his brow raised in question.I shook my head, eyes turned to slit. I let out a forced smile. “How could you not check up on me even once? That is so terrible. Your own daughter.”“Don’t be dramatic, Ari. I came to check on you during the time you were there.”“What if I had died?” I gasped, feigning hurt. “What if I don’t make it?”“But you’re here, aren’t you?”“You are so not fun!” I rolled my eyes, slumping in my seat.“I didn’t build all this by being fun.” He mused, his glasses reflecting the muted reading lamp beside him. I took risks, showed up, made changes, connections and contracts that got us all…”Here we go. “Yeah, I kno
