Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Betrayed Luna’s Revenge: Too Late for Regret, Alpha : Kabanata 51 - Kabanata 60

Yvette“I think I’m ready to go home now.” I turned to Soren and said and he nodded. I sighed, looking around and feeling slightly reluctant to leave. After spending hours at the cemetery, Soren suggested we go back to his place so I could get something to eat before my stomach started acting up again. It made my heart feel a bit warm. I knew I had promised myself not to get entangled with this man because I had no idea why he was doing all this for me, and I was certainly aware that it wasn’t simply because my “Uncle Philip” had saved his life back then.To me, it felt more complicated than that and even today, it felt like he wanted to talk to me about something big and important I had no idea about. But he held back because he wasn’t sure if it was the right time because of the fact that my mother's death was still fresh and hanging over us.I appreciated it though, I didn’t want to know about anything that would possibly change the direction of my life or alter my world at this mo

Yvette“No, I’m fine and I am very sure it was just a fever.” I cut in quickly before he could continue. I knew my condition so well, and I didn’t want him to say anything about it now when Elora was here, she wouldn’t let it go and she’d only panic and panic and panic. The young healer blinked slightly, clearly caught off guard by how fast I interrupted him.“Yvette…” Elora frowned and tried to say something but I interrupted her immediately. “It’s literally just stress and exhaustion, plus I haven’t eaten properly in days. Besides, you know what happened recently.” I added quickly while forcing out a weak laugh. Sorry Mom, you have to buy me out of this one.“Please, don’t say it, not in front of her please.” I kept muttering in my head while staring directly at the healer like I was trying to get him to hear my thoughts somehow. Maybe I was because to be sincere, I just couldn’t handle another person looking at me with pity right now.The healer studied me quietly for a moment

SorenThe sound of the hospital room door opening startled both of us immediately. Yvette jerked slightly beneath my hands while I straightened up instinctively.Jaxon stood at the entrance holding a paper bag and two drink carriers in his hands. For a second, his eyes slowly moved between me leaning over Yvette’s bed and Yvette herself who still looked flushed beneath the blanket. Then one of his brows lifted like he was suspecting something might have happened between us. “Well…” he drawled slowly. “This looks intimate.”Yvette looked like she wanted the ground to swallow her whole immediately.“It’s not what it looks like,” she muttered quickly while avoiding eye contact completely.Wrong move because that only made Jaxon look more amused. I was certain he was indeed suspicious about our involvement but he didn’t bother to press further.“Relax,” he scoffed while walking further inside. “I’m not the one you need to explain things to.”He placed the paper bag carefully on the bedsi

YvetteFor the next few hours after Jaxon and Soren left, my fever kept coming and going. One moment I would feel perfectly fine, and the next? My body would suddenly burn up again, like my blood was boiling beneath my skin.Honestly, I was already getting tired of hospitals. The healers eventually discharged me after insisting I continue resting properly, eat healthier meals, and avoid emotional stress.“As if emotional stress were avoidable in our lives.” Isla had teased, and I rolled my eyes. She was right, though, with everything going on around me and the situation I’ve found myself in, was emotional stress really avoidable or a constant? Elora came by to drive me home after I was discharged, and the moment I returned to the mansion, Gina rushed toward me.“Luna Yvette!” she exclaimed worriedly before taking the small bag from my hand carefully.“You should’ve called me. I would’ve prepared everything before you arrived.” She muttered while quickly bringing my indoor slippers t

YvetteThe next morning, I woke up in a rather cheerful mood. I didn’t know if it was because I was feeling much better and my fever seemed to be gone.Or, if it was because I was finally going to show Kael’s mother that I was not to be messed with.Time flew by quickly, and before I knew it, it was already 2:30pm. I got ready and headed for Obsidian Lounge. By the time I got there, I realized Mrs. Draven was already there waiting for me.Of course she was. After all, even though she was arrogant as hell, she wasn’t stupid enough to ignore my message completely. The private lounge smelled faintly of expensive wine and sandalwood while soft piano music played quietly somewhere in the background.Mrs. Draven sat near the window, dressed elegantly in dark green silk, with her posture perfectly straight, as if she were attending some noble council meeting instead of secretly meeting the woman she despised most. The second her eyes landed on me, her expression hardened immediately.“There
