Lahat ng Kabanata ng The Betrayed Luna’s Revenge: Too Late for Regret, Alpha : Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

Yvette“Luna Yvette… the results are back. Your wolf is fading.” The pack healer’s voice was unusually gentle, which instantly made my stomach tighten.Of course, he didn’t know how to deliver the news… but I already knew what he was going to say. I sat across from him in the small medical wing of the Moonridge Packhouse, staring at the parchment in his hands. Outside, the afternoon sun filtered through the tall windows, but the room suddenly felt cold.“You have not truly mated with the Alpha. Once your wolf completely fades away, your life will come to an end as well.” The healer continued.“How long?” I asked and his eyes softened with pity.I hated it whenever people gave me that look. Like they felt sorry for me and that I was the most pathetic thing ever. Maybe I was, but I didn’t need to see it in their eyes every time they looked at me. “Three months. Perhaps less.”Silence filled the room.Three months.Three years of marriage to Alpha Kael Draven… and this was how it ende

YvetteAfter finishing up at the office I went back home and immediately I stepped inside, before I could say jack my phone started ringing again. Oh my dayssss. How I wanted to scream my ass off.Did I suddenly get popular overnight for my phone to have been ringing nonstop since morning? I begrudgingly picked the phone up from the table and glanced down at the screen.Jaxon Vale.Oh, that was a surprise. My cousin was calling. “Jaxon?” I answered in a calm voice. He was always pleasant to talk to… I mean most of the time. “Yvette, are you off work now? Are you busy?” He asked slightly hesitantly. I glanced at the slice of apple in my hand and leaned back against the sofa.“No, I just got home, what’s up?” I asked and he paused briefly before speaking again, sounding unusually excited.“I just got promoted today and guess what?? I got a raise too…. AHHHHHHH” he screamed so loudly I had to take the phone out of my ears for some time so he wouldn't end up making me deaf. Jaxon was

Yvette “So now your way of checking up on me is following me around?” Kael asked, his voice laced with anger. For a moment, I stood frozen in place. The laughter from his friends died instantly.Several of them exchanged uneasy glances which I already expected because I could tell none of them had expected to see me here tonight. After all, this gathering had been arranged in a hurry for Lyra’s birthday celebration. Plus, they had even chosen one of the most private rooms in the entire building.Yet here I was, standing right in front of them. It was purely a coincidence though, but I knew for sure that right now, they were already wondering how much of their conversation I had heard. My chest tightened painfully. For a split second, a memory flashed through my mind…the younger Kael from years ago. The boy who had once fought three rogue wolves just because one of them had insulted me.That boy overlapped with the man standing in front of me now. This man was cold and unkind, far f

YvetteI didn’t say anything for a long time. I just kept weighing the consequences of what could possibly happen if I did end up stabbing Lyra with these scissors.Maybe Kael will become so angry that I had hurt his lover and he’d reject me on the spot.Hmmphhh… that wasn’t such a bad idea now, was it?Lyra tilted her head slightly, her wide eyes blinking up at me like she didn’t understand what was happening. “What’s wrong?” she asked softly and I smiled.“Nothing,” I replied and she gave me a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. Of course, she thought I wouldn’t react no matter what she did to me. She was used to me swallowing everything she did, me pretending not to see or hear her bullshit. But that was only because in this house, I had always been the outsider. The unwanted one.The only people who loved me unconditionally in this household were my mother and my grandmother. To the rest of the family though… I was the inconvenient reminder of a past they all wanted to eras

YvetteI sighed as my mind drifted back to yesterday. Both of my brothers Darius and Robyn had defended Lyra over me yet again. It was really funny to me. They were just her stepbrothers, but they cherished her more than me who was supposed to be their biological sister.I mean for goodness sake we had the same mother and father so why couldn’t they just love me like how they loved her? Or was I not worthy of their love too? Then my father, the bastard who betrayed my body, had the guts to come down and lecture me about learning to maintain peace with my stepsister. When he didn’t try to maintain the peace in his house by having a mistress. If he hadn’t betrayed Mom, maybe our family of five would have been happy without these annoying people. Then Lyra had tried to provoke me and embarrass me yet again in front of them. She had announced to them that her new lover had gifted her a beautiful necklace. She had done it to taunt me but I no longer cared since Kael himself no longer matte
