It was Theo who found him first. Not really found. More wandered into the room because he couldn't sleep. The house had settled into one of those late-night silences where every floorboard seemed louder than it should. Marielle had just finished rinsing two forgotten mugs in the kitchen when she noticed Theo wasn't in his bed. She checked the bathroom. Empty. His bedroom. Empty again.
