Olivia's Pov “Those damn bastards!” I cursed under my breath, glaring at Derek as he disappeared into his room. Without wasting time, I spun around, grabbed my suitcase from the floor violently and dragged it down the hallway. I opened the door to the guest room, stepped inside, and slammed it shut behind me. I turned the lock twice, throwing my bag onto the floor with a loud bang. “Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” I cursed multiple times, making sure to keep my voice under control. Even if the walls were soundproofed, I couldn't let anything slip out. I still had to act like the innocent co-worker to Derek. But damn it, I was so fucking angry about all this! My hands were shaking so badly as I unzipped my purse and pulled out my phone. I tapped the screen with frantic, aggressive motions, dialing a number I knew by heart. The phone rang three times but the person at the other end of the phone didn't want to pick up. "Pick up, damn it, pick up the fucking phone!" I hissed, pacing back

Harvey's Pov Olivia looked at me with wide, shocked eyes, her jaw dropping slightly as her gaze swept over my appearance. "What... what are you doing here in the company?!" Two female employees standing right beside Olivia turned their heads, looking back and forth between Olivia and me with curious expressions. "Olivia?" one of the women, a tall woman with short dark hair, asked in a hushed tone. "Do you know her?" Olivia instantly shifted her expression. The initial shock vanished from her face, replaced by a soft, gentle, and deeply concerned look that made my stomach turn. She took a step closer to me, looking at the two women with a small, awkward smile. "Oh, yes... this is Harvey," Olivia said, her voice dripping with artificial sweetness and gentle worry. She looked at the women with wide, innocent eyes. "She's actually... Well, she's a close friend of mine. Please don't be harsh on her." I narrowed my eyes at her, feeling an immediate wave of disgust. "I'm not your frie

Harvey's Pov "Why the hell is that any of your business?!" I shot back, adjusting my top and taking a step back. "Keep your hands to yourself!" I put my palms over my necklace, staring at her. She was crazy. What the hell does she have to do with my necklace? “You stole it from me, didn't you? How could you steal my stuff?!” She half yelled, half cried. Olivia had tears dripping down her eyes, “Derek bought that for me as a gift. I haven't even been able to wear it yet! If you wanted it, you would have asked me. You didn't need to take it behind my back!” “Are you crazy? Or just delusional?” I asked in utter disbelief, taking another step back, however, someone pushed me forward again. “You're asking if Olivia's delusional? She's been defending you ever since you tried to trespass but the only thing you could do was to steal from her?!” “Olivia, you really need to check the people you call your friends. This bitch isn't someone you should keep around.” “You're all

Harvey's Pov “That's because she's just a surrogate! It's not the way you're thinking!” Derek announced loudly, his words cutting through the lobby like a meat cleaver. "Olivia is nothing more than a contracted surrogate mother! My wife, Harvey, has not been able to give birth during the years that we've been married so I asked Olivia to help me!” Silence instantly fell over the room once again. I stared at Derek, my jaw tightening as a wave of disbelief washed over me. I knew Derek was selfish and spineless. But I never, in my wildest dreams, expected him to throw Olivia under the bus with such ruthless speed just to save his own career and reputation. In a single sentence, he had completely stripped Olivia of her dignity. He reduced her from a woman he claimed to care about into a hired womb, a shameless body for lease, while simultaneously trying to paint himself as a dutiful, tragic husband who was just trying to build a family despite his "defective" wife. He had put both m

Derek's Pov “W-what?!” I stammered, my eyes going wide. It felt like someone had used a hammer to strike me in the middle of my head. My vision blurred at the edges and my ears began to ring with a high-pitched sound. Senior Assistant Designer?! Harvey?! No... No, no, no! This was impossible! This had to be a nightmare! I had locked her in her room that morning! I made sure she wouldn't be able to leave the house. She was eventually able to, how she did it, I have no idea but by the time I left, there was hardly any more time for her to have gotten to the office for an interview! She wouldn't have been able to get here in time! How did she get the position?! My hands slipped entirely off Harvey’s wrist, dropping limply to my sides like two dead pieces of wood. I looked at Harvey. She was standing there, her head held high, her chin lifted, her face completely calm and composed. She didn't look like a timid housewife. She didn't look like the woman who spent three years cook
