All Chapters of The Don's Innocent Nurse: Chapter 71 - Chapter 80

Melanie’s POVI knew Hayley was going to have a lot to say when I got back to the nurses’ station on the ICU floor and I was right.“Damn girl, that was the most fun I’ve had in a long time,” she said.“I’m glad you had fun,” I said.“That being said, if you don’t marry him, I will.”“Hayley!”"What!? I'm not being funny. I mean look at his sister. Any woman who is able to raise a girl child with so much wealth and turned out to be so pleasant is the kind of family you want to marry into."“Can you please stop talking about my marriage when I’m not even engaged to the man?” “With the way it’s going, it’s only a matter of time before he pops the question,” she said. “Has he introduced you to the rest of his family?”I shook my head. Aria was the only one I’ve met and I hoped it remained so. The thought of meeting his family was quite scary.I was already lying to enough people as it was and I didn't want to meet his family and have to put on an act the whole night. In that light, I a

Melanie’s POVI wasn't in the mood to go home yet so an idea struck me when I was walking out of the hospital after my shift.“Good evening, Ms. Jones,” Ralph greeted as usual. “Hope you had a nice shift.”He normally doesn’t ask me questions about my work so I knew what he really meant was whether I enjoyed my time with Aria."You don't get to ask me questions when I'm still mad at you," I responded. He nodded. “Fair enough. Ready to go home?”“Actually, I don’t want you to drive me home yet,” I said.He frowned. “Your shift is over and you don’t have any plans,” he said."And when did you become my boss?" I asked."I'm not but I am responsible for your safety which means knowing everything that has to do with you," he said.“You’re annoying, have I told you that before?”“I know now,” he answered. “Please get in the car, let me take you home.”"You will drive me to the house, just not immediately. I want you to drive me to my apartment," I said.“Why do you want to go there?” he ask

Melanie’s POVRalph helped me carry my bags inside the house but he didn’t go past the living room. He dropped the bag at the foot of the stairs and left after a bidding Alice and I a quick goodbye.“What’s the bag for?” Alice asked, eyeing the bag suspiciously.“Why? Do you think it’s a bomb?”“Don’t joke about things like that, Melanie,” she said.I laughed and shook my head. “Nothing of the sort. I just stopped by my apartment to grab a few of my things,” I said.“Were you running out of clothes here?” she asked. “I thought your closet was fully stocked.”“Yes, the closet was fully stocked and the clothes re beautiful. More expensive than I’ve ever owned in my entire life but I wanted my own clothes. Something that was mine so I stopped by my apartment and had tea with Phoebe,” I explained.“But you saw Phoebe yesterday,” she said.“I know that but there’s no hard rule that states I can’t see her twice in a row,” I replied. “And I needed to ask her something which I’m glad I did.”

Melanie’s POVBy the time I got downstairs, Alice had already set out my food on the dining table.“That took a while,” she said.“I know, got a phone call from my parents,” I replied. “You didn’t have to set my food on the dining table, I could have eaten with you in the kitchen like we always do.”“No, I thought it would be nice if we ate together in a different setting but I got tired of waiting for you so I ate first,” she explained.“That’s okay, I understand, as long as you keep me company while I eat. I don’t think I’m ready to be alone,” I answered.“That’s not a problem,” she replied.I sat down and stared at the spread on the table. “Wow, you really went all out for dinner tonight and it all looks delicious,” I complimented.Alice took a seat across from me, smiling. “Thank you dear, I made rice and peas. It’s a Jamaican recipe I got off the internet,” she replied.“Well, I’m sure it’s delicious, and that’s not the only thing you apparently made,” I answered. There were als

Adriano’s POVI like to think of myself as a somewhat patient man, but Melanie has been testing my patience for a while now and I was just about done with this shit.Whoever said patience was a virtue didn’t know what the fuck they were talking about. When she came down this morning, looking tired and sleep-deprived, I felt so guilty because I had kept her up till late and probably messed with her sleep schedule. I felt somewhat better when, Ralph reported to me that, Aria went to have lunch with her in the hospital. At least I was so sure she wasn't skipping her meals even though what I really wanted was to be with her. Then Ralph called in the evening and told me she was insisting on going to her apartment and I let her go because I was still making up for last night. However, my patience died the moment I came into the house and saw the shirt she was wearing.A proper glance at it and I immediately knew that the shirt wasn’t mine. I didn’t know which was worse, the fact that she ha
