All Chapters of My Hockey Alpha Mate: Chapter 1 - Chapter 10

~Adeline~ "Adeline! Open the door. We're going to be late!" Josie's voice echoed through my bedroom door accompanied by two quick knocks. "I'm coming, just give me a second!" I shouted back, picking my backpack up off the floor and stuffing my textbooks into it. "You said that five minutes ago!" she replied from the hallway. "Dylan's going to leave us behind if you don't hurry up!" "I'm grabbing my books now. Wait!" Casting one last glance at my reflection in the mirror, I adjusted the collar of the Wolfebrooke Crest Academy uniform that Miranda had left on my bed two days ago. It consisted of a short pleated black skirt, a white shirt, and a black blazer. It felt strange compared to the casual clothes everyone wore at my old public school. Knowing what to wear every morning used to give me anxiety sometimes. Kids judged your worth by the quality of the clothes you wore to class, but here, with this uniform, it would be different. I put the blazer on feeling a litt

~Jasper pov~ "Are you listening to me, Jasper?" my dad asked as he stepped away from his working table to lean in front of it. "Yes, Dad. I understand everything," I muttered keeping my eyes on him. "Good. Because let me be clear with you," he paused. "I don’t care if it’s a passing grade, Jasper. A D is not good enough for a Beckham." He added in a serious voice. My stomach turned. I was going to be late for my first class if he kept holding me up. He had been going on and on about how I needed to keep my grades up, threatening to pull me from the captain position on the hockey team so I could focus squarely on school. It was infuriating. I had already skipped a year of senior school as he insisted I go for Alpha training when I turned eighteen last year... Now, I had to focus and finish my senior year because my time would be gone once I took over the pack. My grades were actually good I kept straight As. Just one single subject kept dragging me down, which is w

~Adeline~ "We had to rush through all our preparation just to swing by and pick you up, and you already got into a fight with Camila?" Josie asked hurrying to catch up as I kept walking. I stopped short, and she bumped right into my back, then stepped around to face me with cheeks flushed and a flustered look in her eyes. "I was on my own, like I have been trying to be the past week," I said my lips trembled as I fought back the tears. "But she could not bear to miss a single chance to bully me. She offered me a ride. I politely declined, only for her to gun her car through the deepest puddle, just to splash muck all over me. Look at me, Josie. I have my placement test this morning. I left early to study a bit before anyone else gets here. Look at me now!" I gestured down at my ruined uniform. "Come on, Adeline, don't break down right here," she cautioned glancing around the school grounds. I shook my head. "I should not have come here at all! I should have stayed back in m

~Jasper~ "Fuck, Jasper..." she gasped. I grabbed my stick and tried to step around her, but she moved, grabbing my gloved hands. My wolf snarled. I forcefully wrenched my hands free from her grasp, leveling her with the meanest glare I could. The force from my pull threw her off balance, she stumbled backward and slammed hard onto the floor. I stopped dead in my tracks. "Hey, Camila..." Caleb muttered, rushing forward to offer her a hand. "Don't touch me!" she screeched, swatting him away. Caleb threw his hands up and backed off. As Camila rose to her feet, I caught movement in my side vision, one of her followers by the door was secretly holding up her phone. I knew exactly what she was doing, but I didn't care. Birds of a feather flock together. "Jasper, you... you can't break up with me just like that! After a whole year? After using me?" she sobbed, her tears smeared her mascara into dark streaks down her cheeks. Her entire body was now shaking. "

~Adeline~ "The pay is really decent too," Lily added, like she thought I was hesitating over money. I nodded and swallowed hard against the lump that had formed in my throat. She took my arm and led me toward the staff wing where Coach Roman’s office was. The school really was huge and fancy, every hallway polished and in perfect order, like nothing bad had ever happened anywhere within these walls. We waited nearly an hour before he finally came back from practice, and when he walked in he looked exactly like you’d expect a top-tier hockey coach to look…broad and solid, tall enough that he had to duck a little to get through the door, hair cut short and neat, still glistening a little with sweat. He stopped in the doorway and sniffed. Once. Twice. Then he crossed his arms over his chest and looked me up and down like he was sizing up a new player. "You're the new human?” he asked, voice flat. Lily jumped in to explain who I was and why we were there. "Are you sur
