Bianca walked into the kitchen just as my knees were about to hit the ground. I quickly regained my composure and stood upright. My eyes met Bianca's, and I immediately lowered my gaze.“What is the meaning of this?” Bianca asked. Her gaze switched from me to Mira. “Mira?” She called, but Mira didn't even look at her. Bianca's eyes darted back to me. “And you, Octavia.” Before I could say a word, Mira cleared her throat. She planted her hands on her hips as she faced Bianca. “How about you mind your fucking business?” Mira warned her.Bianca stared at her in disbelief… “Have you gone mad?” she shouted.Silence.“If I hadn't come here, were you going to fuck Octavia? You were going to fuck Red Dragon's guest… inside his own kitchen?”I fidgeted with the hem of my dress as Bianca lashed out. She was right. If she hadn't come, who knows what would've happened? She moved towards Mira, creating an opening. I didn't hesitate. I ran out of the kitchen, leaving the two ladies behind.“Octa

It was drizzling when I stepped out of the mansion wearing the training uniform. It was barely 6am, and Red Dragon was still indoors. The bodyguards still patrolled the island; none had gone to the training ground for the day. Yet, Mira had scheduled our first training session at such an early hour.As I plodded down the path tiredly, a cold breeze filled my lungs. Mira was waiting for me in the field, already dressed in her sparring suit.“You're late.” Her voice rang in my ears as I stepped into the clearing.I looked at her. “Are you kidding me? Why do we have to train at this hour? Red Dragon is not even training yet. Neither are the bodyguards.” I half-yelled. Her smirk stopped me from asking further questions. “Fine, let's do it.” I muttered. “Grab a sword from the weapon shelf.” I followed her instructions. But as I walked past her, her hand shot out, pulling me back by my waist. My eyes snapped in her direction. “Don’t ever question my authority again.” Her voice came low

I entered my room and shut the door behind me. I couldn't stop crying. Flashes of what had just happened kept crawling back into my mind. The way Mira had manhandled me.I felt shame settle over me as I folded myself into a corner. I sank to the floor. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror, not after that humiliation.Immediately, my door opened without a knock. I looked.Bianca.This was the first time she had entered my room since I arrived on the island. I looked away almost immediately.“Go away…”There was silence in the room. She didn't move, just stood at the door, staring at me in my pathetic state. Then she came towards me.“Your room is nice,” she said, darting her eyes around. “Pink is your favorite color, huh?”I didn't answer. Anyone could have guessed from the pink décor. She looked towards the window. “How's the view from up here?”“I said go away…” I yelled. She turned, and our eyes met. I looked away, sobbing quietly. My eyes were hurting from excessive crying. She

Draven Ironclaw (Red Dragon's) POVOur plane landed at the airport. I couldn't contain my anger. I had spent years meditating, learning how to control my emotions. Yet, all it took to make me lose control was a threat to Octavia's life. The news reached me last night when I was on a business trip to Guthrotone, a neighboring country.“My Lord Dragon… Octavia has been called onto Agni Kai. She's facing Mira Kinsley in two days.”That was the message I received from my personal servant, Brianne Tharous.I was already in the middle of a meeting. I called Bianca, but she wasn't picking up. Mira wasn't picking up either. Then Krul immediately came into the meeting room.“My Lord, there has been an event back home.”My chest tightened.“Talk to me…”Krul took a deep breath. “I just got a call from one of the men left behind. It would seem like a death match has been called between Lady Octavia and Lady Mira.”I rose, tension tightening in my chest.“My Lord? This project you're launching…”

Octavia's POV The day had come. I told myself I was ready. Red Dragon had spent hours drilling that word, ready, into me until it started sounding like a lie I was supposed to believe. But standing at the edge of the arena, watching the stone steps fill with people who wanted to see me bleed, I realized that no amount of lecturing changes what fear does to your hands. This was the arena the Durango Cartel used to settle what words couldn't fix. A circular pit of packed earth, torches burning along the walls even under the afternoon sun, because tradition demanded fire be present whenever blood was spilled. I watched the mafia gather on the steps, their voices loud, their eyes already hungry. I didn't recognize a single face, but I recognized the look in all their eyes.Red Dragon walked into the center and raised both arms. The noise died before he even opened his mouth. He spoke the old words, the ones that bound two lives together before the death duel decided their fate.“Two f
