All Chapters of Tricky Game The Luna And Alpha Fell Into:Would They survive?: Chapter 11 - Chapter 20

The forest waited for them at the edge of the field, silent in a way that felt deliberate — no birdsong, no rustle of wind through leaves, just a heavy, watchful stillness that made the hair on Joy's arms rise before she'd even crossed the tree line."Today's trial requires teams of five," the woman in gray announced. "Ahead lies a forest laced with poisonous flora — spores, sap, thorns, all capable of causing paralysis, hallucination, or death depending on exposure. Your objective is simple: reach the antidote station at the forest's center and administer the cure to your entire team before nightfall."She paused, letting the weight of her next words land fully."However, only enough antidote exists for four hundred people. There are currently three hundred and forty-one contestants remaining. Ordinarily, this would not present a difficulty." A faint, cold smile touched her mouth. "But the forest itself will not make reaching that antidote simple. Choose your team wisely."Joy's grou

They made it back to camp just as the last light faded from the sky, exhausted, filthy, and short two members of their original group of five — a man named Torin and a young contestant whose name Joy had never learned, both lost somewhere in the chaos of the antidote clearing. The mechanical voice confirmed it that evening, flat and indifferent as always. "Two hundred and eighty-nine contestants remain."Joy sat apart from the others near the shelter's edge, the umbrella resting against her knees, her whole body still humming with the strange, hollowed-out exhaustion that had followed her since the ridge. She hadn't spoken much since they'd returned. She wasn't entirely sure what to say.Kian found her there eventually, settling down beside her with the particular carefulness of someone unsure whether his presence would be welcomed. "How are you feeling?""Tired," Joy admitted. "Strange. Like something inside me got used up today and hasn't quite grown back yet.""You saved four lives

Joy told them everything that morning, gathered in a tight circle near the shelter's edge before the camp fully woke — Kian, Serena, Farrah, and Dorian listening in careful, unbroken silence as she recounted the dream that felt too vivid, too precise, to be simple imagination."A birthmark," Serena repeated slowly, when Joy finished. "Shaped like a moon and star.""Beneath my collarbone," Joy confirmed, pulling her collar aside just enough to reveal the small, faint mark she'd carried her whole life without understanding its weight. "I've had it since birth. Never thought anything of it before now."Dorian leaned closer, studying the mark with a frown of concentration. "I've heard old stories about a hidden Luna," he admitted slowly. "Growing up, my grandmother used to tell them like cautionary tales — about a prophecy the werewolf kingdoms feared enough to build an entire sacrificial decree around. I always assumed they were just old superstition, the kind every region keeps around t

Dawn arrived heavier than usual, gray clouds pressing low over the field where two hundred and eighty-nine contestants gathered in tense, silent rows. The woman in gray stood on her platform, and for the first time since the competition began, she did not smile, did not offer the cold pleasantries that usually preceded her announcements. Her expression carried something almost like reluctance, though Joy suspected it was simply another performance, calculated to heighten the dread already thick in the morning air."Today's trial is called the Weight of Choice," she announced. "Each of you will be given a single token. At noon, you will be led to a chamber containing exactly one hundred safe passages and one hundred eighty-nine contestants who will not have access to them."Gasps rippled through the crowd."You may trade your token to another contestant if you choose. You may combine tokens to guarantee passage for someone else at the cost of your own. Or you may keep your token and ho

The announcement came at midnight, tearing every contestant from uneasy sleep with an urgency that made clear, even before the words fully registered, that something had fundamentally changed."Attention. All contestants report to the central field immediately. This is not a trial. This is a mandatory assembly."Joy stumbled from her shelter alongside Kian, Serena, and Farrah, confusion and dread tangling together as they joined the stream of bodies moving through the dark toward the field. Around them, murmured questions rippled through the crowd — no one seemed to know what to expect, and the uncertainty itself felt like its own kind of threat. The woman in gray waited on her platform, illuminated harshly by floodlights against the black sky, and for the first time since the competition began, her expression carried no pretense of ceremony at all — just cold, clinical efficiency."Effective immediately," she announced, "the competition timeline has been revised.
