Alice POVI asked Ryder and Silas to explain further about the person who had supposedly been watching me, but they both claimed they knew nothing about the person’s identity and were still trying to investigate.“Umm… so does this mean that you both weren’t the ones who sent those rogues after me?” I asked one last time, just to be certain of their innocence.Ryder scoffed as he lifted his hand and lightly flicked my forehead with his fingers, a playful smirk tugging at his lips.“The last thing we would ever do is send rogues after you,” he purred, his deep voice rolling smoothly through the room. “Besides, we wouldn’t have to go to such drastic lengths just to get you back as our mate.” He added with a faint chuckle.I sighed before taking my seat back on the bed, my thoughts drifting into a restless whirl. The more I tried to connect the pieces, the less they seemed to make sense.Who had sent those rogues after me? And why would that person want to harm me now, of all times, when

Alice POVTime seemed to stand still as I stared at Ryder in confusion. When he noticed my silence, he finally decided to speak again.“You don’t have to feel pressured into coming back into my life or my brother’s,” Ryder said gently. A small smile curved across his lips, and for some reason, there was something sincere about it that caught me off guard. “We can start with something simple. One step at a time. You decide how far we go.”As he spoke, he shifted slightly closer, narrowing the small distance between us.“I just want you to promise me that you’ll at least think about what I’ve said with an open mind.”I fluttered my eyelashes but said nothing. It wasn’t because I didn’t know what to say. I was simply confused.Ryder had been so playful and carefree moments ago, yet now he was sitting before me with an unexpected seriousness that I wasn’t accustomed to seeing from him. The sudden change in his demeanor unsettled me more than his teasing ever could.I swallowed hard.“Don’

Alice POV“Alice,” Ryder called after me when the silence between us stretched for several seconds. “Stop talking nonsense. Come on. You need to go home, get some rest, and freshen up.”His voice was filled with firm concern as he tightened his hold around my waist to keep me steady.I pouted even more, fluttering my eyelashes as I tried to focus my drunken gaze on him.“I want a kiss from you, Ryder…” I mumbled, my words carrying a stubborn edge. “Or…”My words trailed off when my legs suddenly wobbled beneath me. Deep down, my mind searched for something else to threaten him with, but whatever thought I had disappeared before I could catch it.“Umm… come.” I purred, my voice barely above a whisper.I reached down, pulled Ryder’s hands away from my waist, and stubbornly started leading the way toward the exit but with every unsteady step, the floor seemed to tilt beneath my feet, prompting me to stumbled dangerously close to the ground.“Don’t… don’t catch me, okay?” I snapped when R

Ryder’s POVAs I pulled my car over in front of Alice apartment building, almost immediately, her mother stepped out of the building as though she had been waiting for us or had been expecting our arrival. She hurried toward my car and opened the rear passenger door where Alice was seated.“Good morning, Mrs. Whitmore,” I greeted politely, lifting a hand in a small wave.Alice’s mother merely scoffed and rolled her eyes at me. Without bothering to exchange another word, she reached into the car, lifted Alice into her arms, and began making her way toward the apartment but just as she was about to step inside, my voice stopped her.“Mrs. Whitmore!” I called loudly before stepping out of the car and shutting the door behind me. “Could you spare me a few minutes? I think we need to clear something up.”Mrs. Whitmore halted and with a displeased expression, she slowly turned around and shook her head.“Whatever you came here to discuss, Ryder, I’m not interested. You can leave now.” She r

Alice POV“Alice, are you seriously saying yes right now?” Ryder questioned, his voice filled with disbelief as he became completely taken aback by what I had just said.I scoffed, almost able to picture the surprise spreading across his face. For once, I was glad I couldn’t see his face because I had a feeling his expression would have been priceless.“You’re not messing with me, are you?” Ryder questioned again, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes before putting the phone on speaker so my mother could hear what I was about to say next.“Ryder, you claimed that you and Silas both want me back in your lives as your mate, and I…”“You’ve finally agreed!” he chipped in, excitement practically radiating from his voice.Ryder’s sudden excitement almost made me laugh and I couldn’t help but scoff in amusement.“Alice, what the hell do you think you’re doing?” My mother questioned as she tried snatching the phone from my grip. With a quick movement, I pulled my hand away and dodged her at
