Alina's Pov: The door that led to the room in which they were talking was a little bit open. From that little space, I could see Claire's hands on my mate's chest. Although he wasn’t holding her, I could feel something inappropriate was going through her mind again. How did she get Darius to miss out on a meeting that he had been looking forward to? Claire pressed her chest against his, leaving no space between them. That was it. I pushed the doors open, noisily announcing my presence. Even with me being there, Claire didn’t take her hands off my mate. When I glared at her hand placement for too long, she stylishly removed it while avoiding my gaze. “What's going on here? Why didn’t you show up at the introduction ceremony?” I asked sternly, my gaze fixated on her ‘shaking' body. She acted pitifully, coughing and hugging herself as though she were cold. Wasn't she the one rubbing my mate all over a few seconds ago? Why was she suddenly feeling sick the moment I arrived? “I'm s

Alina's Pov: I had always imagined Darius fighting and drawing his fangs. I had never seen him on the battlefield fighting before. And today, he did that. Not to protect me. But to hurt me. "I—" He tried coming close to me but I stepped back, terrified of what he would do next. Would he try to kill me because of Claire? Was he so blind as to see that all this was just a game that she was playing? She was trying to separate us and unfortunately, Darius was falling for it. It was then that I understood what she meant by not allowing me to steal what belonged to her. She wanted Darius. But he was my mate! How could she be so covetous?“I was trying to—” Before he could finish his sentence, I ran off to my room. My shoulder hurt. My heart hurt. Everything hurt. I stood in front of my mirror, staring at the blood dripping from the wound and soaking up my dress. I thought he loved me so much that he would never yell at me, or hurt me. But looking at my bleeding shoulder, I knew I ha

Claire's Pov: I watched, through my white veil, as Alpha Kain dragged Alina out of the wedding hall. With the way she winced when he grabbed her, I knew he was hurting her. Served her right for trying to take all the good stuff —the throne and Darius— and then leave me in the dark like some unwanted being. It was nice having to watch her take my place. The Rogue King seemed really pissed when Darius tried to stop him, thinking I was the one getting married to him. Oh my Darius... He still cared. He still loved me. And that was why I was happy to give him the surprise of his life. Only the goddess knew what was going to befall my dear sister. Let her suffer for once and see what it feels like. "Let the wedding ceremony continue," The priest announced after Alina and her dear husband exited the hall. Finally, the bad energy had been gotten rid of. And now, our sacred wedding vows. After the vows had been made and the rings matched on our fingers, it was now time for Darius to li

Darius' Pov: When I opened my eyes, I saw Alina lying down beside me. I thought I was dreaming. How was it possible that she was with me?I reached out to touch her face, only for Claire's image to replace Alina's face. I withdrew my hand and carefully sat up. I wiped my face with my palms, groaning lightly. Why was I still thinking about Alina? Last night, after I had opened the letter, I read through it. It was a rejection letter from Alina. I was furious. How dare she reject me? I was about to tear the letter in two when it started burning. And a moment later, our mate tie was severed. For good. I could no longer feel her presence but she had never left my mind.I still dreamt about her and she was calling out to me to save her. And now that I was awake, she was all that occupied my mind. "What's wrong, Darius? Isn't it too early to be awake?" Claire's voice rang in my head. I turned to find her half-awake. I saw the mark on her neck. I had marked her last night after my mate

Kain's Pov: I felt enraged, seeing as she walked inside the dining hall. It wasn't because she had done anything wrong. It was because of the detail that had been missed concerning her white hair. I hated being in the dark about anything whatsoever. After I had given my set of rules, Zion appeared at the entrance. I didn't even wait to have my breakfast before storming out. I had more important things to attend to. "Why didn't you wait to finish breakfast with her?" I knew Zion was going to ask. We were now walking toward the car, one of my latest achievements. A black sleek vehicle that had been gotten from the human world. Quite convenient for very long distances. "I don't see how any of that is your business." He opened the door and I got in. He followed after me and shut the door. "She's your wife," "Good. You get the point. MINE. All the more reason you should stop putting your nose in my business, Zion."Although he was my beta, he was still my best friend. He was the on
