Tate povThose Vincent bastards barely leave the territory when Hayes barges into the house, looking disheveled, panicked and absolutely horrified - nothing like my usually stoic brother. His shirt is half-untucked, there’s a smear of something dark on his forehead and his eyes are wide and wild in a way I’ve only seen a handful of times in our entire lives. Hayes doesn’t even close the front door behind him, just locks his eyes onto me and crosses the room like a man possessed. “Tate, I need you,” he chokes out, voice hurried but unusually rough, “now.”I frown at him but rise from the couch and straighten up. “What the hell happened to you?”Hayes grabs the front of my shirt like he did the night he punched me, but this time he doesn’t strike. He grips the fabric with desperation and pulls me close. “I took her to the basement under the hospital,” Hayes blurts out, breathing hard and fast. “The punishment room. She pushed me too far, called me every name she could think of, spat in

Hayes pov I sit in the chair next to her bed and pretend to watch the monitors, but in reality, I’m keeping my attention more to everything that’s happening around me. Sure, I keep my hand on the edge of the mattress, close enough to feel the heat of her without actually touching her, but my main focus right now remains on my brother. He’s leaning against a wall, talking to one of the older doctors. The conversation looks intense - Tate has taken that defensive position with his arms crossed and the doctor keeps glancing toward this room like he’s nervous and trying not to show it. I can’t hear the words from here, but I know my brother - that posture means he’s giving orders, or even more likely, whispering threats. The longer I look at them, the more wrong the entire scene feels. Whatever he’s planning, I need to find a moment to talk to that doctor and stop Tate before he does something that neither of us will be able to fix.A couple of minutes later, when Tate finally pushes

Sarah povI can’t sit still - every few minutes I check my phone even though I know none of them will call until they find something worth reporting. Bree sits on the couch, her knees pulled up while she watches me with that same worried look she’s had since the phone call.“They’re taking too long,” I groan for probably the tenth time since Bree arrived at the house. “I think they’re just being very careful about the whole entering the enemy’s territory thing,” Bree mutters and glances at the window. “Luna, if they just charge into Graves territory without a plan it could make everything worse.”I know she’s right, but that doesn’t mean I hate this situation any less all of a sudden. “What if she’s not there?” I ask and stop pacing to turn and look at her. “What if the number was some kind of trick to throw us off from the actual people who have her? I fear if she’s really with those twin boys, they might’ve already moved her since at least one knows she reached out to us. We need

Ophelia povWhen I open my eyes, I immediately realize that my body aches everywhere, even in places I had no idea could hurt. My arms feel like they were set on fire and then left to burn for hours. My head pounds worse than ever before and for a few seconds, I don’t understand why I’m in so much pain or where I am.But soon, the memories come crashing back - the basement, the liquid silver, the screaming, and Hayes’s voice calling me bunny while everything went black.I try to sit up, but pain immediately shoots through me and a small hand gently pushes me back against the bed. “Easy,” a woman’s voice says. “You’re in the hospital, honey. Don’t move too fast, you’re still recovering, you need peace and rest.” I have to blink like an idiot until my eyes finally focus and I can see her - she’s a nurse, already checking the monitors and carefully examining my wrists where the silver hit. Her expression stays professional, but I catch the way her mouth tightens when she sees the marks.

Alister povDad, Luka and I push through the broken front entrance and stop dead in our tracks. The door is half off its hinges, wood splintered, one side hanging like someone kicked it in with their all might. The living room looks like a small storm hit it and standing in the middle of that storm is something that shouldn’t exist in our house.A massive, overgrown, wall of muscle is staring up at the chandelier with open wonder, head tilted back, leaves stuck in his hair. Bree is pressed against the far wall, face pale, eyes locked on him like he might eat her next. And mom just stands in the middle of the room, looking like she’s ready to quit life in general. The second she sees us her shoulders drop and a look of pure relief flashes across her face. Dad steps closer to her first, looking at the enormous thing, not mom. “She’s not in Graves territory. We checked the borders, the scents, everything we could without starting a war. No trace of her past their outer patrols.”Dad Luk
