Ophelia povA week after I returned home, everything finally feels like it’s back in places where it belongs. Or, at least, sort of. I look at Alister, who snuck into the treehouse I’ve been occupying for the last three hours, and groan. “Are you going to tell me why you’re here or not?” The corner of his mouth twitches as he immediately shakes his head. “Oh, so you want me to guess?” I ask, feeling the smile already pulling at my lips. “Alright, hmm, you’re here because someone pissed you off.” Alister arches an eyebrow, which is the clearest answer for no in his language. “So that’s not it,” I mutter and try to come up with a good reason. “Is it our parents? At least my dad, he definitely did something, didn’t he?” This time, Alister shakes his head. I take a long while to watch him, trying to notice anything about his body language that might tell me exactly why he’s hiding here. Unfortunately, reading Alister is like reading a book.
