ETHAN'S POVSecond day at the cell.It was almost night and I had nothing to do except stare at the sky through the tiny window. The sky looked mysteriously bright, like it was assuring me that hope should not be lost.I let out a sigh as I rested my head on the wall, my eyes still not leaving the view. All of a sudden, I saw a shadow appear. I immediately cleared my eyes and looked again, I wasn't dreaming, someone was peering at me through the window. My heart began to beat. Then I recalled the last time I had seen a shadow when I was about to sleep. Was someone watching me?As I stood, I noticed the person did not move. Whoever it was was dressed in a black outfit with a mask concealing his face from being seen.“Ethan.” I heard him call.Just then I froze, he knew my name and the voice… sounded quite familiar.“Who are you?” I asked as I stopped by the window.“None of your business. Why are you here?”“He locked me up for refusing to shoot an ‘enemy.’” I answered. “You're from D

ETHAN'S POV“You will accompany me to a gala event.” Moretti had told me last night before I left the room.I quickly looked at him, my eyes widened in shock.“Acc–accompany you?”He glanced at me and nodded.“I can't. I can't follow you.” I said abruptly. Why made him think I could just do what he says at any time?Moretti raised a brow. “You can't?”I gulped hard as he rose.“I wasn't asking.” he told me as he trailed his fingers beneath my jaws. “And what do you think you would be going as?”“Huh?” I said as I looked up.What the hell was I thinking?I could still recall the smirk on his face when I told him I wasn't thinking anything. As I sat on the bed, my mind went over what he had told me.“What you are going as is of my concern, not yours.” he had said, “and you will do as I say without complaining.”I let out a sigh and stood up from the bed. “If he wants me to accompany him, then I would do as he says.” I said as I headed to the bathroom.A few hours later, I stood in my

DRAVEN'S POV Moretti was around. I had only heard that from Marco minutes before entering the grand hall. After setting my eyes on Ethan I had confirmed it. I clenched my fist as I got out of the room. “Why is he here?” I asked myself as I followed the same path Ethan had followed out. Did Andrea invite him too? I scoffed. “That old man surely knows how to raise my anger.” I said to myself as I smoothened out my clothes. The next moment, I was walking into the grand hall with my eyes darting every corner. Then it landed on him, the enemy. I gritted my teeth in anger. Moretti. He was there in the limelight, smiling widely like he owned every space. Then I looked to his side to see Ethan, standing beside him with a faint smile. He doesn't want to be there, I knew it. From his trembling hands to his fake expression, it was clear that Moretti was the last person he wanted to be with. I smirked and began walking in their direction. On seeing me, Ethan's eyes widened in shock.

DRAVEN'S POV “Where the hell is Moretti?” I questioned with my gun out. After leaving my empire, the next thing I thought to do was organize a few of my men who followed me to Moretti's hideout. While I was still asking for Moretti to be brought to me, I caught sight of his aide approaching.“Don Moretti would like to see you in his office.” Raven said with a slight bow.I scoffed and dropped my gun before walking behind him towards the building. The moment I was in, I was led to a room situated at one end of the large building and then the door opened.I walked in, my eyes darting at every corner for traces of traps.“You are safe, Draven.” Moretti said as he leaned back in his seat with a cigar in his mouth. “I don't plan to kill you now.”I clenched my gun hard and raised towards him, “and what if I blow your head out?”Moretti glanced at me, but he did not seem moved.“You are in my empire, what makes you think I'll fear you?” he asked Draven. Then he stood from his seat, approac
