IVY’S POVMy chest was almost paralyzed with the fear that hit me, and my hands shook around the plastic bowl of baby food. Was she stolen while I was downstairs in the kitchen? What if she tripped over something and fell? I was definitely going to get sued this time. I wouldn’t be able to escape this one like yesterday.“Ava?” I whispered, my voice trembling. “Ava!” I called again, but got nothing in return.I dropped the food and rushed out into the hallway, breathing heavily. I started running down the long corridor, checking every single open door and my panic intensified when I still didn't find her. I turned a sharp corner and stopped when I realized it was the master bedroom, where Mrs. Reynolds had warned me to never go in for any reason. I’d just started to turn back when I heard that familiar tiny, high-pitched sound. It was Ava’s voice, and it was coming from the master bedroom.Relief flooded my chest as my heartbeat started to relax, realizing she was completely safe

DAMIEN’S POVThe very woman who has been tormenting my mind since last night. The entire reason I took that cheap stripper to a hotel room was.She was standing right in front of me, wearing a pink tank top and blue jeans that hugged her curves perfectly once again. Her jaw slacked, a sign that she’d also recognised me, but I was too busy admiring her to care.I couldn’t see much of her last night because of how dark it was. But now, standing under the bright lights of my own home, I could see her clearly.Fuck, she was stunning. The soft glow of her cream skin complemented her hair that flowed past her shoulders in thick, shiny layers. But it was the face that completely held me captive. That full pouty lips, delicate nose, and bright eyes framed by long lashes. With her smoky makeup gone, she looked more innocent than she looked last night. My dick immediately stirs in my pants, hardening to a thick ache at the mere sight of her. And the uncontrollable rush of desire only makes me a

IVY’S POV"You heard me," I said, wiping the tears from my cheek. "I know you are powerful and rich, Mr. Blackwood, but that doesn’t give you the right to treat people like trash. You don't even know me, yet you are judging my entire character based on one night even after I’ve explained that it’s not what you think."He didn’t move. He just stared at me, his jaw clenched tightly."And how could you be so nonchalant towards your own daughter?" I continued, the anger boiling over. I was getting fired anyway so there was no need holding it in. "When you came to the room, you were so blinded by rage that you didn't even look at her. You cared more about the fact that I was in that room than your daughter you haven’t seen in a while. Now you’re sending me away without any replacement, who will now take care of her? I can’t believe a room is more important than your daughter’s wellbeing and….”.“You know nothing about my life or my daughter”. He hissed, interrupting me. “Get out. Now." His

The thought remained on my mind as I moved to the toilet to brush my teeth and take a piss. When I was done, I decided to head downstairs to break the news to Ivy whom I was no longer going to fire anymore. Not after everything she told me yesterday, my conscience won’t let me sleep at night.I would have to try my best to control my actions and thoughts so I could keep my relationship with her professional. It was just a kiss by the way and nothing more. Even if it meant letting different girls suck me off every night to get her off my mind, I was ready to do it.My parents’ call this morning also made me realize just how risky starting anything with her will be.With my father having me followed, it will be difficult to hide her from them and they would never accept her. One, it was too soon. No matter how much they pretended otherwise, my parents cared more about the reputation of our family than my happiness which was why they made me marry Serena in the first place when I wasn’t

IVY’S POVDamien was leaning against the car, his phone pressed to his right ear as he barked orders to whoever was on the call with him. He wasn't wearing his usual intimidating suits or corporate fits.Instead, he wore a cream-colored, knitted sweater with the sleeves pushed up to his forearms, revealing the tattoos wrapped around his skin and the prominent lines of his wrists. He had on dark tailored trousers and clean white sneakers, and his messy dark hair fell slightly over his forehead in a way that looked effortlessly handsome. My heart lurched against my chest as I couldn’t tear my eyes away from him. I almost cried at how unfairly good he looked right now.As if sensing my presence, Damien turned his head, his eyes locking instantly with mine. It was airy around us, but it still felt like oxygen had been sucked out of the atmosphere, leaving a suffocating tension behind.I watched his gaze slowly travel down my white tank top, lingering on the curve of my waist and the fit o
