CAIDY ELLIS POINT OF VIEW Knoxx and I finally stopped talking when the clock hit three in the morning. I honestly didn't even realize how late it had gotten until my eyes started burning from exhaustion and I glanced at the clock. Somehow, hours had passed without either of us noticing. We talked about everything and absolutely nothing at the same time. We brought up stupid memories from when we were younger, laughed over inside jokes that probably wouldn't make sense to anyone else, and kept teasing each other like we used to before everything between us became so messy and complicated. And somehow, it felt easy.Too easy, maybe. For those few hours, I didn't have to think about what happened between us. I didn't have to wonder if he still hated me or if I

CAIDY ELLIS POINT OF VIEW "Killing wraiths isn't cool, baby. They smell like absolute trash—"I froze. Before I could even process it, Malakai shot up from his chair and slammed both hands against the table."What the fuck did you just call my mate, Knoxx Volkaris?!"I nearly jumped out of my skin.Knoxx, on the other hand, didn't even flinch. He leaned back in his chair and looked at Malakai with the most annoyingly calm expression, like he couldn't understand why everyone was making such a big deal out of it."Baby."My eyes widened again. He actually said it again.

CAIDY ELLIS POINT OF VIEW Before I could argue again, Lucien let out a bitter laugh. “If she's well enough to stand there and flirt with all of you, then she's well enough to fucking train. Just let her.”My head snapped toward him, and for a second, I almost forgot how annoyed I had been. I looked at Malakai, then back at Lucien, and a tiny smile slowly tugged at my lips. Well, well, well. Look who was suddenly on my side. I didn't care if he was only saying it because he was irritated with everyone else. I was going to use it.“You heard him,” I told Malakai, trying very hard not to look too pleased with myself.Malakai narrowed his eyes at me. “Do not use Lucien’s words against me.”

CAIDY ELLIS POINT OF VIEW The tension in the training room was getting ridiculous. I could practically feel it sitting on my shoulders, and the longer the three of them stared at me, the more I wanted to throw my hands up and scream. The energy from our training still lingered around the room, humming softly through the air, but honestly, that wasn't what had my nerves on edge. It was Malakai, Knoxx, and Sylas watching me like I had just announced that I planned to throw myself off a cliff for fun.Malakai stood a few feet away from me with his arms crossed over his chest, his jaw so tight that I was pretty sure he was grinding his teeth. He had that look again. The one that said he was already preparing a long speech about responsibility, safety, and how I needed to stop doing reckless things.&n

CAIDY ELLIS POINT OF VIEW My palm still stung like hell, and the sharp, metallic ache pulsed through my hand where I had cut it open. I could feel the warmth of my blood slipping down my skin, but I barely paid attention to it.  My focus stayed on Lucien and the cage I had created around him. The crimson drops twisted through the air at my command, hardened into sharp spikes, and locked together until there was nowhere for him to go. I had done it so quickly that even I was a little shocked by how easily my power responded to me. Sylas stared at me like I had suddenly grown another head. His mouth opened, but for a second, nothing came out. Then he blinked and looked at my bleeding hand before looking back at the blood cage. &
