Chapter 42.Darcy‘Stay.”“What?” I blinked. For a second I thought I heard him wrong. After everything that happened, that was the last thing I expected him to say.“Stay here.” He repeated. “Sleep here. You said we shouldn’t sleep apart or no one would believe we were dating.”I looked at his hand still wrapped around mine, then back at his face. He looked exhausted. His hair was messy and there was something in his expression I couldn’t quite place.“Okay.” I said. The word came out quieter than I intended. “Let me just change first.” I picked up a tank top and a pair of shorts and changed in the bathroom. When I got out, Killian was sitting up. I slid under the covers beside him and turned my face away from him.“You’ll fall off. Come closer.” He mumbled.Okay this was weird. Very weird. I had spent the entire day convinced that Killian was mad at me. Actually I had been convinced since yesterday. When he picked me up from the library yesterday his replies were short. Then he went

My hands spread over the head of the bed, blindly searching for my phone. I turned it off and took slow shuffling steps to the bathroom, with my eyes half open. I walked over to the cabinet above the sink and brought out my blue toothbrush.I squeezed out a glob of toothpaste and started to brush my teeth as I leaned against the sink. I closed my eyes as I continued to brush my teeth, silently cursing my sleeping habits. I wasn’t a light sleeper like Sunny but once I woke up, I couldn’t go back to sleep, no matter how tired I was.“You know Grayson,” Killian drawled from behind me. “If you just wanted to see me without my clothes on, you could have asked.” I turned around and saw Killian staring at me from the shower. The steam had fogged up the glass doors a bit but I could still see the outline of his toned muscular body; from his wide s
