Semua Bab Pleasured by my Ex-Husband’s Uncle: Bab 41 - Bab 50

MELANIE ~•~ The Jones family loved banquets. They held one for everything. Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, birthdays, and every other celebratory occasion. But sometimes, they held it for the sake of it. According to Patrick’s grandmother, it was a way to bring the family together. This banquet was one of those where there was no special occasion. Just several round tables, enough to hold the entire extended family and lots of food, starting with the appetizers. The hall was almost filled up by the time Patrick and I arrived. I hadn’t helped much with the planning because I’d always told Patrick’s mom that I was busy, but she did a good job with the decoration. Then again, she always aimed to please her mother-in-law, the same way she expected me to please her all the time. I did please her tonight though. I wore the dark blue dress she suggested. While I was over her “subtle suggestions,” I had only two days left with her family so I didn’t want to stir up any more prob

CHRISTIAN~•~I had spent too much time with Melanie.Sure, we were working during those times but it was enough for me to know how to read her and at the moment, she was clearly annoyed by my comment. She looked like the perfect picture of composure as she strode out of the hall but I didn’t miss the little shake in her hand as she grabbed the side of her dress as if she was trying to restrain herself.I waited for a full two minutes before I found myself standing up in the middle of my mother’s suggestion about eligible women I could meet if I was serious about getting married. I wasn’t.But I couldn’t tell her that I made that comment to mock my nephew. He was acting like the perfect husband in front of everyone but after all the things Melanie had told me about him, I couldn’t see him the same way anymore. “Where are you going?” My mother asked.“Restroom,” I responded noncommittally. I didn’t wait for her reply before I left the table. Just as I stepped out of the hall, I caugh

CHRISTIAN~•~Melanie and I sat across from each other, just staring.Well, she was glaring but same difference.I had expected Melanie to show up today. Besides, she didn’t seem like the kind of woman to recklessly dishonor a contract. However, she still felt betrayed for reasons best known to her so she thought the best course of action was coming into my office at the start of the work day and glaring at me.Did she think I’d let her go if she glared hard enough? If there was a knock on the door, neither of us heard it. We were only pulled out of our staring contest when Louis cleared his throat. “Uh…”Melanie averted her gaze immediately and my lips threatened to curve into a smile as I looked up at my secretary. “You have a meeting in ten minutes.”Right. I had almost forgotten about that because of the woman sitting across from me. She was a distraction. I nodded at Louis and waited until he left before I faced Melanie again. “Ms. Juarez, did you visit my office to say somethi

PATRICK~•~I slammed the door so hard the frames rattled. The audacity of that woman. Five years of marriage and she thought she could just walk out because she was in one of her moods? Were her hormones disturbing her? Was that the problem?I walked towards the window and crossed my arms, staring outside, watching as she lifted two suitcases by herself and placed them in the trunk of her — my — car.She didn’t hesitate as she lifted the boxes too, loaded them into the car, and got into the driver’s seat. She actually started the engine.I stood, frozen, some small stubborn part of me waiting for her to turn it off, come back inside, and admit that it was just her regular tantrum, only overblown this time. That she packed all her things just to make a point. Maybe she didn’t want to move to the new place which was why she was leaving just before we could relocate. Maybe she liked this house because it was the first house I bought after we got married. Maybe she had an attachment to

MELANIE~•~I woke up to sunlight streaming directly across my face, a reminder that I forgot to close the curtains last night. The curtains back at Patrick’s place were automatic. They opened in the morning and closed at night so I didn’t have to do it myself. It was something I would get used to but it was absolutely worth it.For a moment, I just lay there. There was no sound of pans clattering in the kitchen from Vivian trying to impress everyone with her cooking. There were no footsteps in the hallway that made me hold my breath, wondering if someone was coming into the room. There was no husband.I was a divorced woman.I hadn’t felt this free in years. It was refreshing.I dragged myself out of bed and into the shower. I didn’t spend much time there. I still had to go to work anyway. I got dressed in the blazer I’d already set out the night before and grabbed my keys off the counter.Thankfully, I’d taken Celina up on her offer to help me unpack. If I hadn’t, I probably would
