The police arrived soon after. After confirming the embezzlement evidence, they took Peyton away for questioning. As the officers escorted her out, she was still cursing at Vincent, glaring at him like she wanted to rip him apart. Not long after, HR posted a second announcement.[Following an internal review, intern Vincent Tate is terminated for serious misconduct, spreading malicious rumors about a colleague, and deliberately damaging the company's reputation. He will not be eligible for rehire.][Former Vice President Peyton Welch is terminated after conclusive evidence of embezzlement was uncovered. She must repay the $120,000 in misappropriated company funds within one week, or the company will pursue legal action.]The second the announcement dropped, Vincent went ghost-white.He scrambled to his feet and rushed to Mr. Klein's office, begging for another chance."Mr. Klein, I was wrong! I'm about to graduate. If I get fired now, I'll never find a job. Please, just give me

I opened social media and found another post from Peyton's burner account. She called me ruthless, saying I'd even turned on my ex just to steal a project. Her friends piled into the comments to defend her.I wasn't worried.I'd expected this. And I already had all the evidence ready.***Vincent's video spread fast and was trending locally by morning. My phone rang nonstop all night.Strangers flooded me with hate messages. Some even sent threatening packages and showed up outside the company, demanding I apologize to Vincent.Peyton played the victim all over social media too.She claimed I'd spent tens of thousands of dollars from her account during our three years together.According to her, I dumped her the second I made it big—and then sent her to jail. She painted herself as the victim in all of it.Public opinion was completely against me.The company's official account was flooded with hate, and people were threatening to boycott our products.Mr. Klein called

She says she's Vincent's girlfriend, Sophie."I told them to let her in.Sophie stopped beside my desk, looking grim. She gripped her phone so hard her knuckles turned white."What do you need?"She bit her lip, her voice a little hoarse."I... I saw the video you posted. I need to know if it's all true."Is Vincent really sleeping with your company's VP? Did he really use my money to buy her stuff?"I didn't answer.I just showed her all the evidence I had. There were records of Vincent and Peyton's hotel stays on the exact days he'd told Sophie he

If I die, it'll be your fault!]***The next morning, I got to work and found a crowd gathered outside, everyone staring up at the roof.Vincent was sitting on the edge, his legs dangling over the side as he livestreamed on his phone. The second he spotted me, he shouted into the camera."Everyone, look! That's Andy Alford—the guy who bullied me!"Because of him, I can't graduate, I can't get a job, and my girlfriend dumped me. I've got nothing left! If I die today, it's all his fault!"People below pulled out their phones to record, whispering among themselves. Some yelled for him not to do anything stupid.
