Clara turned toward the driver, her chest still heaving from the sprint.“Everyone, get out.”The driver froze with one hand still on the ignition, staring at her as though he had misheard.“What?” one of the passengers asked, his eyes widening in confusion.“Get out of the car,” Clara repeated, this time with more urgency. She glanced toward the facility, listening carefully as distant voices carried through the night. “But they're coming after us,” another man protested, his voice tightening with fear.“I know,” Clara said. “We don't have time. Just trust me.”For several seconds, nobody moved.They stared at her, clearly wondering whether she had lost her mind. The car was their safest chance of putting distance between themselves and the armed men, yet Clara was asking them to abandon it and run into the darkness on foot.“We have to move now,” Clara pleaded, her voice dropping as she looked at each of them. “Please.
