All Chapters of Mated to four heirs: Chapter 1 - Chapter 10

Chapter 1SAMANTHA'S POVToday was the day I never saw coming. I didn't know how to react right now because I knew what I was getting into even though I didn't want to.Getting a scholarship into Nightshade Academy has always been my parents' dream, even though I was just a mere human without scent. When I got the letter, I didn't want to come here knowing that I might be the only human in the academy, but my parents were so happy, so I just couldn't just tell them I didn't want to go and ruin their happiness.I thought as I pressed my forehead against the cold window of the driving bus and watched the trees close in like teeth. The ancient oaks had trunks wider than my entire apartment back home and branches twisted into shapes that looked less like nature and more like warning signs. The kind of dark that didn't just hide things it breathed."You're blocking the view," I heard someone mutter behind me, making me sigh softly, realizing what she was trying to do.I didn't bother to mo

SAMANTHA'S POVIt was finally time for the initiation, and I just walked into the crescent moon. The Crescent Moon Hall was a circular room carved directly into the bedrock beneath the Academy, with walls that looked less like stone and more like dried blood. In the center, a slab of black rock shaped like a crescent moon, and above it, a glass ceiling that showed the sky just beginning to darken, the first hints of red bleeding into the clouds. There were maybe forty first-years in the chamber, and all of them were wolves, and they were all watching me.I felt their eyes like hands on my skin, measuring and weighing, deciding whether I was prey or just pathetic.Principal Vex stood at the head of the room, next to the Crescent Stone. She raised her hand, and the chamber went silent before she began."Tonight, you shed your first blood on Nightshade ground, and tonight, the Moon Goddess sees you, and she decides if you are worthy to be here or not." She spoke, her voice soft but firm.

SAMANTHA CARTERMy heart stopped the moment those words left Alpha Blackwood's mouth."Then you will be killed."The sentence echoed inside my head again and again until every other sound around me disappeared. My throat tightened, and I couldn't even remember how to breathe. My fingers curled into trembling fists at my sides, yet I forced myself to remain standing. The Council Hall, which had been silent only moments ago, suddenly erupted into loud voices."She's an abomination!""The Moon Goddess has never made four mates!""She should be executed before disaster follows!""No! If the Goddess chose her, then killing her would be defying the Moon herself!"The arguments collided from every direction, making my head pound, while I stood in the middle of the chamber feeling less like a person and more like a criminal being judged for a crime I didn't even know I had committed.I hadn't asked for any of this. I hadn't asked to come to Nightshade Academy. I hadn't asked to be

CARLA VALESleep refused to come.I lay on my bed with one arm over my eyes, yet no matter how tightly I shut them, I could still feel her.Samantha.She was only a few rooms away, but to my wolf, it felt like she was miles beyond my reach.‘Go to her,’ my wolf urged for what felt like the hundredth time that night."No."‘She is our mate,’ my wolf insisted, as if that was supposed to make me happy."I know."‘Then why are we hiding?’Because loving her would kill her.I turned onto my side and stared at the ceiling. I had spent years preparing myself for a life without love. I had convinced myself that I would never have a mate, never have a family, never know what it felt like to hold someone without fear. Then the Moon Goddess had placed Samantha before me and expected me to pretend everything would somehow be different. It wouldn't. It never was.My eyes drifted toward the old wooden chest beneath my bed. I hadn't opened it in months.Slowly, I got up and knelt b

RITA ASHCROFT There were only a few names that mattered inside Nightshade Academy, and mine was one of them.I had spent three years building that reputation, and every early morning training session, every sleepless night studying pack politics, every duel I had won, and every expectation placed upon my shoulders had shaped me into the woman everyone believed would one day stand beside one of the four Alpha heirs. It wasn't something I had demanded, nor was it a title anyone had officially given me. It was simply the future everyone had always seen for me, and after hearing it repeated for so many years, I had started believing it too.As I walked through the eastern co rridor, students immediately stepped aside to make room for me, while others lowered their heads respectfully."Good morning, Rita," a second-year student greeted politely, offering me a small smile.I returned the smile with a graceful nod before continuing down the hallway.Another group of student
