All Chapters of My Ex Shared His Genius With My Best Friend: Chapter 1 - Chapter 10

Judy's POV The bell for morning study rang right on cue. Our homeroom teacher, John Sanders, walked up to the front of the classroom."The final citywide mock SAT is next week. Your scores will determine how many recommendation slots you get. Everyone, you need to focus on your studies," he advised. As soon as he finished speaking, my ex-boyfriend, Jace Shelton, suddenly raised his hand and stood up. "Mr. Sanders, I request to sit next to Roxy."The entire class was in an uproar.Jace and I had been desk mates for two years. Mr. Sanders had paired us up in the first place, hoping we would do better together.Mr. Sanders frowned and said sternly, "Nonsense! The SAT is coming up soon. Why change seats now? Your current grades are enough to get you into Payton University. Don't let your foolishness ruin your future!"Yet, Jace explained, "Roxy's fundamentals are too weak. Her current deskmate can't do anything to help her. Only I can tutor her properly and make sure she improves h

Judy's POV There were only three days left until the SAT, so Mr. Sanders organized a mock college application session for the class. He handed out mock college application forms to everyone, telling us to practice filling them out using our mock exam scores to figure out where we stood. The classroom was noisy. Jace didn't even bother looking at the application guide and simply wrote "Payton University" as his first choice. Then, he took Roxy's application form and confidently wrote "Jinton Institute of Engineering" as her first choice. It was a fairly decent university in Jinton. The students around them stared in shock, their eyes widening at the sight."Jace, you're guaranteed to get into Payton University. But Roxy didn't even score 430 on the last exam. And the cutoff for this school was nearly 850 last year!" Ezra Manson, the class' sports rep, was a straightforward guy. So he couldn't help but speak up to remind him.Roxy, who had been happily looking at the applicatio

Judy's POV Everyone's eyes were glued to the screen."Test Taker: Jace Shelton"Total SAT Score: 960"The red numbers were in the center of the screen. He didn't have a full score. He wasn't the top scorer. He only scored 960.Jace's smile froze on his face. "T-This can't be!"He frantically pounded the keyboard with both hands, the F5 key clicking loudly under his frantic presses. "The website has to be bugged! The system must have crashed and messed up the data!"Roxy hurried over to look at the screen. "Jace, did you read it wrong? You should've scored around 1450. With the 100-point bonus, you should get above 1550! How could you possibly have the same score as me?"As soon as Roxy said that, the students around them put the pieces together. Ezra snapped his fingers and yelled, "Holy shit! I get it now! Roxy scored 960, and so did Jace! They didn't get a 100-point bonus! Their scores are added together and then divided by two!"The crowd went wild."That's why Roxy sc

Third-Person POVThe deadline for submitting college applications had arrived. The entire class was excited, discussing which cities they wanted to go to.Only Jace sat alone in the corner of the classroom, staring intently at the college application guide. He had only scored 960. He can barely use it to apply to the decent universities. His only options were obscure majors at schools in remote areas, or expensive private universities.Meanwhile, Roxy was beaming with pride. She took the application draft Jace had filled out for her and submitted her choice, Jinton Institute of Engineering, through the online system. It was a well-established university in Jinton, with an admission cutoff of 850 in previous years. Since she had scored 960, she was guaranteed a spot. "Jace, have you filled yours out yet?" Roxy walked over and leaned against Jace's desk, smiling brightly. "We agreed we'd meet up in Jinton. Just apply to this school too. I know it's a bit of a compromise for you, b

Judy's POVUniversity had started. Life at Jinton University was even more fulfilling than I had imagined. I joined a national key laboratory and began working on research projects under my advisor. I even earned a national scholarship. I spent my days in the library and the laboratory, and time flew by.Occasionally, I would see messages about Jace and Roxy in my high school class group chat. At Jinton Institute of Engineering, they were constantly at each other's throats.…Third-Person POVJace remained arrogant. Deep down, he was still convinced that he was top-student material. So, he looked down on all the students around him. In class, he was always finding fault with everything the teachers said. After class, he kept to himself and refused to participate in any group activities. Before long, the entire class had ostracized him. Even his roommates called him a show-off behind his back.Meanwhile, Roxy had completely let herself loose. She had never been cut out for stu
