"Get out of my face before I snap your neck, Everett," I say, my voice dripping with cold lethal promise as I step through the heavy iron archway of the Blackthorn Transit Complex. My knuckles are taped tight, bruised and raw from my third underground cage fight of the night, but my posture doesn't slip. I am Darcy Ellington. I am a human female, plus-sized and soft-looking to anyone foolish enough to rely on their eyes, but I survived twenty years in the shadow of the Ashford Pack without a wolf inside me. I don't cringe before Alpha wolves, and I certainly don't bow to corrupt territory enforcers.Director Everett Shaw stands in the flickering neon light of the loading dock, his posture stiff, surrounded by four heavy-set enforcers from the Black Sun Council. Behind him, the sleek, ink-black body of a Blackwood Range Rover idling nearby catches the faint moonlight."You have no jurisdiction here, Everett," I say flatly, slinging my heavy leather duffel over my shoulder. "The Ashford

"Get your hands off my door before I rip your fingers from your palm, Wesley," I snap, my voice dropping an octave as my body thrums with suppressed power.I am Darcy Ellington. I am not a delicate piece of glass, and I am certainly not a helpless human, no matter what the arrogant pure-bloods of the Ashford Pack believed when they threw me into the dirt of the Blackveil Quarter. My heavy, dark hair clings to the back of my neck, damp from the midnight rain, and my full curves press against the tight fabric of my dark coat. I am plus-size, human-born without a trace of wolf scent, but the sheer force of my bloodline makes the air in the back of this sleek Blackwood Range Rover feel suffocatingly thick.Wesley Grant, the gay elder pack enforcer whose life I saved at the border, quickly pulls his clawed hands back from the leather door handle. His silver eyes are wide with a mix of awe and lingering terror. "Miss Darcy... forgive me. The excitement in my chest hasn't faded. If you hadn'

"If you want Frederick Whitmore’s legs healed, you had better shut your mouth and let me do my work, Arabella."My voice dropped low into the heavy, tense quiet of the Silveroak Keep dining hall, slicing through the air like a silver blade. I didn't care about her fake tears or the pathetic act she was putting on for the pack. I raised my hand, wiping a smear of dark grease from my mouth, letting my heavy, plus-size frame settle solidly as I leaned forward over the table. I was born a human—scentless, thick-waisted, and completely powerless in the eyes of these blood-hungry mafia wolves. For twenty years, the Ashford Pack had treated me like dirt beneath their polished boots. They thought because I didn't carry the wolf gene, I had no place in this world. They were wrong.Across the long marble table, Arabella Kingsley flinched, her claws instinctively extending and tearing small, ragged gashes into the pristine linen tablecloth. She was a pure-blood wolf, the golden girl of the Kings

"Get out of my room before I break your jaw, Arabella," I say, my voice dripping with cold blood, my full-figured body leaning heavily against the ornate mahogany frame of the walk-in sanctuary inside Ashford Manor.Arabella Kingsley flinches, her bared claws retracting by an inch as she glares at the mounds of dark leather, silver-plated armor, and heavy fur cloaks lined along the walls. The scent of pine and crushed blood blossoms hangs thick between us. She hates that Celeste Ashford treats me like a beloved queen despite my lack of a wolf form, filling this suite with the finest gear from the Blackveil Quarter."You think you're safe here, you human parasite?" Arabella sneers, her upper lip curling to reveal elongated white fangs. "You think wearing our pack's finest robes makes you an Ashford? Piper is the true heiress. The moment Malcolm realizes you can't shift, he'll throw you to the rogues in the Eastmoor Quarter.""I said get out," I repeat softly, stepping into her space. I

"You really think you're going to fit into Westmere after being thrown out like trash by Malcolm and Celeste, Darcy?" Sornk Mercer sneered, her hand bracing against the door frame of my private quarters in the Bloodfang Court. She tilted her chin, displaying the heavy silver collar studded with lunar-crystallized diamonds resting on a tray in her left hand. "You're a human. A flat-toothed, scentless, fragile little human who got kicked out of the Ashford Manor the second Piper walked through the gates. You think this territory cares about you?"My chest heaved, my pulse hammering a frantic, human rhythm against my ribs as I stared at the silver torque. "Get out of my doorway, Sornk.""I came to give you charity," Sornk purred, stepping deeper into my space, her eyes glowing a faint, mocking yellow. "Dr. Graham Mercer gave me this when I survived my first full moon shift. I know Malcolm Ashford never gave you a single pack marker during the twenty years you spent begging for his approv
