All Chapters of Alpha's Regret: Chasing My Pregnant Luna: Chapter 1 - Chapter 10

Ivy’s POV“The Lycan King’s wrath knows no bounds and once again, he has proven that he is the most feared being in the kingdom!” A pale-faced anchor reports on the television screen behind me.“The King’s betrothed was confirmed to be tragically killed during a robbery at a bridal shop last week,” the anchor continues. At those words, my fingers stumble over the bottle of foundation I am trying to pick up. A sharp pain slices through my chest as I whip my head towards the screen. The robbery.Scenes of people screaming, men in masks and chaos everywhere flash in front of eyes in a panicked haze.It was one of the worst days of my life.Tears form in my eyes as I look at the picture of the golden-haired woman on the screen. The Lycan King’s betrothed wears a kind smile much like what she was wearing when I last saw her in the robbery.Ever since the day of the robbery, I have been compulsively checking news about her, hoping and praying that she survives. Now, the confirmation of her

Ivy’s POVI run like my life depends on it.I run as fast as I can.Fear is like an invisible phantom chasing after me.My breath comes out loudly and my vision blurs.I tightly clutch the pendant Alyssa handed me before she asked me to go and call for help. After all, I was the only one who could do so.The only one who didn’t have an inner wolf and wasn’t affected by the poisonous gas laced with Wolfsbane that the robbers had unleashed on everyone.Faster. Go, Faster, Ivy.My footsteps hasten as I think about Alyssa. She was the kind of person who I could so easily imagine as a friend in another life. A life where we didn’t meet like this - on the precipice of life and death.Maybe we could still be friends. If I can just reach help in time.I had to save her. I had to go back for her. I had to -My thoughts come to a careening halt as something hard hits the back of my head. Sharp pain lances through me as I teeter to the side.“I have to go back-” I whisper weakly as my vision blu

Ivy’s POVIf I thought Alexander was going to kill me there and then, I obviously didn’t understand the kind of predator he was.As the audience cheers at our abrupt kiss, he takes them in with cool regard. There is still a hint of flinty anger in his gaze, but otherwise, he has turned his expression fully neutral. It should put me at ease, but it only has a negative effect. I can see the promise of retribution on his face, and fear pools in my belly.Clearly, he is the kind of predator who takes his time playing with his food, only striking when the prey is most vulnerable. He presses a hand on the small of my back and urges me forward to meet the guests. His fingers are splayed wide, almost encompassing all of my waist. It is a strangely possessive hold, a terrifying gesture of ownership. He doesn’t speak to me as he smiles and accepts the congratulations, playing up the role of the charismatic king. But his smile is too sharp, his eyes narrowed, and I can feel the beast that lives

Ivy’s POVI can barely breathe as Alexander lifts his head back up to look at me. His eyes roam over my face once, and I wonder what he sees.Tears in my eyes, my cheeks flushed with panic, mouth opened in a gasp, and hands stretched forward towards the recorder - I know I don’t look a pretty picture. However, his attention is on me for only a second, before he turns toward the maid. There is no sign of the cocky, aggressive woman anymore. Instead, she fidgets with her hands and looks pale as her eyes dart across the room, not being able to meet his eyes.“What’s going on here? What is with all the noise?” Alexander asks in a dangerously soft voice. His eyes are narrowed and his jaw clenched. He hasn’t raised his voice and yet, the impact is more than if he had shouted.“I-I … I mean, my king, she-she-she was…”The maid can barely speak. Her entire body is shaking in fear now, and there is no trace of her previous hostility.“She, who?” Alexander casually fixes the cuff of his sleeve.

Ivy’s POVFive days pass, and I feel like I am going insane.Alexander doesn’t visit me anymore. Neither does any maid. Three times a day, someone knocks on my door and leaves a tray of food outside. The loneliness is slowly killing me, and I feel like I have lost all sense of time. Finally, on the sixth day, a stiff looking guard tells me that Alexander wants my presence at a banquet. He drops a black box and a note and leaves before I can ask any questions.Nervously, I open the box to reveal a dark blue dress. It’s simple and elegant, and instantly, I am in love with it. However, my mood sours when I read the accompanying note.Get ready at 8 P.M sharp. That’s it. That’s all my cruel husband has to say to me. I sigh at the barely concealed command in the note, but don’t let it get to me. The idea of leaving this prison, even for a little bit, is way too appealing.I spend the rest of the day getting ready, finally having something to look forward to instead of wasting away in this
