LUELLA “Isn't that a public school uniform?” The words hit before I even walked through the gate of Ravenswood Academy. The students threw me a death glare and every stare showed me I didn't belong.Ravenswood Academy didn't welcome people like me, and transferring in the mid-term is enough reason to have people gossip. Don't ask me why because I'm yet to get an answer from my mother.Every student here came from a powerful bloodline or obscene wealth. As for me? I was a nobody whose mother was struggling to make ends meet. “Have you heard of perfume? Gosh, you reek of poverty,” a boy brushed past me, slamming his shoulder against mine.A ripple of laughter followed. I froze in the hallway, fingers tightening around the strap of my bag.“I think it's Pineview High,” someone added. “Golden Pack trash.”“Can she afford this place?” Another voice chimed in.“Of course not. Bet her mother found some sugar daddy. That is the only time they ever get an upgrade.”My jaw clenched as I inha

LUELLA “Do you know each other?” Alpha Richard asked, looking between us.I stopped breathing. Like actually stopped, because the boy sitting right next to me, the same one who took pride in humiliating me just a few hours ago was staring at me like I was the inconvenience. And worse? He was my mother's boyfriend's son.Oh my God.I laughed. Not because it was funny, but if I didn't, I might actually scream at the universe for having a sick sense of humor.Do we know each other? That's rich from a man who made my mother change my school, just so I could fit into their worlds, but I bit back my tongue before I could say something I'd regret.“Unfortunately.”My mom nudged my leg under the table. “Luella.”“What?” I shot back quietly. First she brought me to a different city against my will, and now, I have to stay under the same roof with this asshole?“Luella,” she warned.Asher leaned, frowning slightly, but he didn't look much surprised. Did he know who I was earlier then?Richard

MOCKERY OR TRAINING?LUELLAI didn’t bother to go for lunch after the stunt they pulled at the cafeteria yesterday. My legs were still shaky from the distance I had to walk to school. Just the thought of seeing him again made my stomach churn.Who was I kidding?I stepped into my last class to see everyone dressed as if they were going for a war. Leather suit pants. Jungle boots and… the ladies had their hair packed. Isn’t this supposed to be a normal class?“Miss Rivers, how nice of you to join us,” the instructor said with a smile. It was hard to tell if he meant it, considering the smirk on the student faces, and I could bet they were already planning something stupid.God, I missed Pineview High. At least I had my best friend and a few decent people to hang out with. Everyone here is a snob, and to think I’d have to see these faces for the next one year didn’t sound a bit exciting.“Are you sure you hadn’t stepped into the wrong room?” Sabrina and her minions stepped forward with

LUELLA A week had passed since that little encounter between Asher and me. He didn't show his face all week. Not even at home. I overheard Richard telling my mom that he had been practising hard for the games he had coming, but either way, school wasn't as tough as the first week.“You still haven't visited a lot of places in the pack,” Richard said over the table, forcing me into their conversation.“No,” I said flatly, stabbing the steak on my plate with a fork.“You haven't made any friends either,” my mom pointed out. This was the part where I ought to tell them to fuck off and stop acting like they cared when they were the ones who dragged me into this shitty pack in the first place, but when I saw the dreamy look on Richard's face when he looked at my mom, I was forced to swallow my thoughts.God, I hate it here.“Can I spend the weekend with Hallie or something?” I asked with a sigh. I’d lose it if I were to spend another moment in this forsaken mansion. My mom shook her head,

LUELLA “How about you skip school today? Your wound is not completely healed and Richard didn't want people to find out what happened for your safety,” Mom stood by the door frame, trying to convince me for the hundredth time even after telling her it was okay.“Then what? Will I skip school for the rest of the week too? Because trust me, nobody hates it there more than I do.”I didn't say the last part aloud, of course. She sighed. Concern flickered in her eyes before she finally agreed.“Fine, but don't tell anyone what happened. Richard is still searching for the men who attacked you and once the word is out, catching them won't be that easy.”“I know, Mom,” I slid a sweater on my uniform to cover my bruises, before turning to face my mom. “You worry too much. Don't you have a wedding to plan?”She winced, but masked it up immediately.“About that…”“No,” I shook my head, shooting her a glare. “You're not going to postpone it because of what happened.”“Richard didn't want to ri
