Lahat ng Kabanata ng Luna With Something To Prove: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

“Riley! Beta John wants to see you!” My best friend came running towards me. Hannah was every guy’s wet dream. Long blonde hair, baby blue eyes, big perky breast with a tiny waist. She was the Alpha’s daughter and princess. Never lifting a finger, she was born and bred to be a Luna one day. I was Beta John’s daughter. My mother passed away giving birth to me. Dad always wanted a boy, but since he never mated again, he raised me to be a boy. Where Alpha Kent bought her princess dresses, my dad got me weights. She got fingernail polish, and I got workout DVDs. Despite all that, we were best friends. We were tied for valedictorian. Her older brother Simon was almost a spinning image of Hannah. However, he was 6’9 where Hannah was pushing 6 feet.I, on the other hand was 5’ 7” but solid muscle. I’ve had a six-pack since I was eight years old. My chestnut hair waved down my back with honey-colored eyes. Despite being next to Hannah, I had my fair share of attention with the guys. However,

I couldn’t be surprised. Normally, I would have teased Cameron a little or even make a joke about their suits. I would have even faked an interest in what dress Hannah was going to wear. “Dad just has me doing stuff. You know my dad, he demands perfection.” The lie tasted bitter, but she accepted it. Only Cameron tilted his head and looked between Simon and myself. He must have said something in the mind-link because. Simon frowned and looked at Cameron. That was my cue to leave. Closing the door, I started down the hallway and down the stairs. Even being as quiet as a mouse, my dad still hears me. “Riley.” He just said my name. It was both a command and a question. “Yes, Beta John?” In public, I was forced to address him as such. “Come in and shut the door.” He didn’t even look up from his desk as he spoke. Shutting the door quietly, it felt like the longest walk to his chairs to sit down. In reality, it was only a few feet, but I hated being called into his office. “What’s goin

That caught dad off guard. “Oh, umm…” I knew I looked like my mom, but he still deserved to be happy. “Surely, someone would have suggested it.” Dad rolled his eyes and sat down on my bed. He looked like he aged ten years in that five feet. “Since you might find your mate in this tournament, I might as well open up about it.” Dad paused, and I just leaned against the door to my closet, quietly. He has never spoken to me about mom. “Your mate is literally half of your soul. Everything revolves around them, and the thought of replacing your mother was one that I couldn’t bear to do. It was strongly urged, but I wanted to raise you. I suppose, looking back, you did need a female role model.” “I hadn’t thought about if I found my mate there …” That was a half lie, but what if it was another contestant?“If you find your mate, you can’t do anything about it. Sleeping with a contestant is strictly against the rules.” Dad looked at me, partly concerned and partly scared for me. “Don’t fe

“I would love to go to the Top Warrior Challenge.” Kenna took a sip. Both Cameron and Simon straightened up and looked at each other. Before anyone could speak, Alpha Kent tapped on the microphone. “Good evening!” He boomed. Instantly, everyone got quiet. “Thank you all for coming to our annual summer dance to help form bonds and friendship throughout the land! We have an excellent meal and evening planned, but I have a few announcements before everyone gets too engrossed in the evening. First, I would like to announce that our own future Beta Cameron has found his mate!” A round of applause and cheers spread out over the tent. Cameron stood up and pulled Kenna with her. A guy with a microphone came over and handed it to him.“Thank you.” He raised his hand, and it got quiet again. “My mate, Kenna is from the Clover Cliff pack out East. She comes from a line of betas, and I am excited to have her by myself moving forward.” There were also whispers and a soft clapping before Cameron

“Cameron!” Kenna came running in, with Hannah behind her. “What are you doing here?” Cameron glared at Kenna. “We are mates! I’m not staying hidden while you have a heart to heart with your ex!” To her credit, she walked to the corner of the room. Folded her arms and glared at everyone. Cameron clenched his jaw and turned back to look at me. “What? Need to throw me through more walls?” I pointed at the hole. “Cameron!” Hannah put her hands on her hips. “Go stand next to Kenna and let us talk.” Simon glared at her. When she rested against the wall, Simon turned back to me. “Come on, Ry. Meet us halfway.” I didn’t even try to hide the eye roll. “Halfway? What would you like? I accepted we weren’t mates two months ago. Apparently, Cameron already fucking knew that and still decided to hide the fact he found his. I feel betrayed. All your feelings for me might have vanished as soon as you found her, but you literally told me 24 hours ago. Excuse me for not giving a shit about your f
