RAVEN“Raven?”I straighten away from the wall I'd been resting against and step forward.“Yeah.”“You're up,” the man says.I trail behind him into the chamber where several others are already waiting. The balance of power in this place is obvious, even if no one says it aloud. My fae blood makes me a threat to every person in this room. If they ever uncovered the truth about what I am, they wouldn't hesitate to bar me from this place. More likely, they'd try to put me down before I became a problem.Luckily, they believe I'm nothing more than an ordinary wolf shifter. The only traits that might expose me are my slightly pointed ears and the silvery glow that lingers in my eyes, no matter how long it's been since I last fed on blood.A carefully woven glamour conceals both.Even so, I'm at a disadvantage. As long as I pretend to be a normal shifter, I can't rely on most of my magic without risking exposure. Against warriors like these, that leaves me badly outmatched.Just imagining

RAVEN“All we have to do today is find the enemy warband of monsters,” Kael says. “If everything goes as planned, we shouldn't have to fight.”“I didn't come here to fight,” I reply. “I thought you only needed someone to track them.”“That is exactly why you're here,” Kael says. “Fenris, Drakon, and I will deal with the fighting if it comes to that.”“You're wolves too?”From the moment I met them, I had almost no doubt they were shifters. Their scent gave them away. So did the energy around them. There is no way they are monsters. They don't look twisted or disturbing. There is nothing ugly about them. Monsters always make my skin crawl, and these men do the opposite.Back when I lived with the horde, some of the fae drank monster blood so they could borrow monster strength. I never did. That was the one thing I refused. It was too disgusting.People had tried it for generations because everyone wanted more power. It made sense to test every possibility. But monster blood never mixed

RAVENMy loft apartment feels extremely crowded with these three massive men inside it, but right now, I am not thinking about the space.“I want to see her naked,” Drakon says gruffly. “Take those clothes off her.”Fenris slides his hands under the bottom edge of my shirt and stops moving.“Are you ready?”“Yes.” I am breathing hard and waiting for it.“Do you want this?”“I want it. Do it.”He nods and pulls my shirt up over my head.He tosses it into the corner of the room. I am not sure if I will be able to find it later, and I do not care at all.I want him naked as well.I reach out and struggle to untie his top.He grabs both of my wrists and holds them together tight.“No,” he says softly. “This time, it is all about you.”“This time?”“Hey, we make a really good team, right?”“Yes.”“I do not see us walking away from each other after this contract work. I think we will take on more jobs together. We will spend more time together. We are part of each other's lives now.”That t
