For players: deny it easy sightlines, force close quarters where some rays are less deadly, and prioritize disrupting that antimagic cone — it’s not always about raw damage, sometimes the best tactic is to remove its advantage. I still grin whenever someone finally blinds the central eye and the entire dynamic of the fight flips, which is why beholders remain one of my favorite theatrical assassins in 'Dungeons & Dragons'.
