I’ve just started reading Free eBooks like Project Gutenberg and ManyBooks. For newer web novels, places like RoyalRoad and Webnovel’s free sections are way better than searching for a download link. I’m currently reading ‘Alpha Hunter’ straight off Webnovel with the daily pass for free reading. It’s a great story about a werewolf trying to survive in a brutal pack hierarchy while trying to protect a human he loves.

While researching I found several alternatives to eBook hunter. A massive collection of novels is available at Z-Library (although availability is not always guaranteed), classics can be found at Project Gutenberg (all public domain), and academic and fiction books at Libgen. For a monthly subscription fee, a huge library of eBook and other documents is available at Scribd. Open Library is also an alternative, as you can even ‘borrow’ eBooks in the same way as you would from a physical library, and return them when you like. Each of these sites has its own drawbacks, but they all go some way to filling the gap left by eBook hunter.

I had to do a search for new ebook hunting grounds and bookmarked a few places. I’d recommend Z-Library, as it has a huge library of e-books. Often it’s a bit of a search to find what you want, but that’s also part of the fun. For classic e-books I can only recommend Project Gutenberg. I also came across Libgen with a mix of fiction and educational books that are free to download.

Then there are the platforms where you have to pay, but you get a lot of recent publications. For example Scribd is like a Netflix for books. Another option is Open Library which, as the name suggests, is a virtual library where you can borrow books and even download them. ManyBooks is another option of free e-books, that has a very clean and intuitive design and offers a lot of good quality free e-books.

I am in search for ebook hunter alternatives. For now, I will list the alternatives I found. ' Z-Library' - it has everything, but it is not very stable. ' Project Gutenberg' - a big museum of literature with plenty of old books. ' Libgen' - a lot of books, especially the hard to find ones.

If you want something a little more modern then Scribd is a great read with hundreds of thousands of books available to subscribe to, including the best seller list for those who are into that sort of thing. Open Library is another great source of eBooks and has the unique model of allowing users to ‘borrow’ eBooks for a limited time. ManyBooks is also worth a mention as it has a very clean website and does a great job of recommending similar eBooks to the ones you have already read.

Library cards get way too little love. Connecting your local library to Libby or OverDrive (services that let you borrow e-books and audiobooks) is probably the most ethical and sustainable “solution” to reading. Sure, there are long waitlists for super popular books, but that just means you have to wait a little while and then discover some hidden gem while you’re waiting. The interface is clean, works on any device, and it’s all completely legal. This is the kind of “set it and forget it” solution I look for to reading consistently without guilt.

Trading is probably the most underappreciated method of getting e-books. I'm part of a few book groups where we swap files with each other. One person buys a book, removes the DRM (which is legal in certain circumstances to use personally), and then shares it with the group. The next person buys a different book and removes the DRM from that, sharing that with the group. The system is small, reliant on trust, but very cheap and very fair - it's like sharing physical books with friends. Not really suitable for wider distribution, but it's a very nice way of sharing books with a group of friends who read similar things to you and are also technically-minded enough to deal with whatever software is needed to share the files.

For free Asian web novels, translation quality reads a million times better than garbage. High-quality translations of original works of fiction (even “free” ones like those found on Wuxiaworld or Volare, for instance) far outstrip heaps of locally-hosted “aggregated” copy—all “translated” via some half-baked program of semi-automated re-pulsing via interpolation of works from paying translation groups. Take the time to click on to the original translators and their providers—huge differences between extremely readable original translated chapters and mangled stuff “summarized” for your reading “convenience” by web novel “aggregators”.

What are the best alternatives to MasterAnime?

The site is still shut down which I'm very bitter about. It had a really unique layout and even though the comments were somewhat dysfunctional on occasion, reading through the comments for every episode was half the fun of watching the show. All the replacement sites for the show are pretty soulless compared. The "legitimate" sites have very basic, uninterested designs and the "pirate" sites are all just video streams of TV shows with big "DOWNLOAD NOW" buttons all over them. I'm forced to watch the show on one site and then go to Reddit or the show's Discord channel to discuss the show with others. The experience of watching TV shows has been severely split.

What are the best alternatives to KickAssAnime?

For the most part, I search for anime on Twitter. When a new episode is released, people will post direct links to the video or even make a thread with links to watch in order to avoid regional blocks. You can search for the hashtag for the anime and the number of the episode and find what you’re looking for within minutes. It’s usually a pretty chaotic and ephemeral thing, but it’s really fast and it’s fan-based, so it’s a really great way for people in the fandom to share information with each other in real-time. It’s not really a site, it’s more of a behavior, but for me, in terms of an alternative to regular sites, Twitter is a social media site that can be used as a real-time link aggregator. You just have to be fast enough to find the link before it gets taken down, but for that immediate post-broadcast time, it’s really the best way.

What are the top sites for books epub download of web novels?

Audio version of web novels are increasingly being recorded professionally by platforms such as Soundbooth Theater or Podium Audio and then released on Audible. These perform incredibly well as audiobooks and in my last year of reading web novels, the majority of them I have read via audio. It is a different medium, but this satisfies the offline consumption of long story requirements and actually is ‘better’ in many ways because of the performance and the person’s interpretation. Therefore, Audible or Google Audiobooks would be my recommendation for sites to look for web novels. Just search for the title of your favorite web novel and be surprised at the results. ‘He Who Fights With Monsters’ and ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ for example, are two excellent examples of web novels that have been excellent as audiobooks.

What are the best alternatives to Manga Buddy?

Manga Reader (the one with the blue book icon) has a lot of new users lately. Manga Reader is available on the Play Store, which is great for me since I’m on Android. It supports a large library of Manga sites and aggregators. It’s very easy to read with plenty of customisation for things like viewer type and brightness. There are ads in the free version of the app, but the premium unlock is a one-off purchase, not a subscription, which I like. Manga source updates can sometimes take a while to roll out when a site’s layout changes. It doesn’t have the same level of tracking for reading completion that some of the other apps do, but that’s about it. If you want a no-fuss, download-from-the-Store app that works most of the time, Manga Reader is a very strong contender.

What are the best sites to get ebooks drm free legally?

10 Answers2025-08-08
First, I simple search for “book title DRM-free” or “book title multiformat.” This will typically return the publisher’s own sales page or smaller stores like DriveThruFiction (primarily RPGs and genre fiction with a smattering of novels). DriveThruRPG and all of its sister stores are 100% DRM-free for all of their material. I find that for tie-in fiction, gaming novels and even a fair amount of horror that DriveThruRPG is an excellent resource. Yes, the shopping cart is a bit clunky when compared to Amazon’s but you’ll instantly receive your EPUB, PDF and MOBI files to download as you will with no restrictions as to the number of times you can download the files in question.

What are the best alternatives to VoyeurWeb?

When looking for alternative sources of sexual content I surprisingly found a lot of good quality, boundary pushing artists on Behance (a website for creative artists to showcase their work) as well as on NSFW ‘secret’ blogs on Tumblr (a blogging website that still has a lot of adult content up – if you know where to look). NewTumbl is an attempt to recreate Tumblr, but it’s very much a ghost town at the moment. PornHub also have a ‘Model Hub’ section which is largely commercial and not really what I’m looking for. Each of these sites has their own quirks and ways of working (Tumblr’s tagging system is a complete mess, for example, while Behance is very strictly moderated).

Where to find free novels compatible with calibre libraries?

7 Answers2025-08-05
Fans of speculative fiction may be interested to know about the SFF Online Free Reading Library, a selective list of short stories and novels available legally online for free. The library is not a download site itself, but rather a index to stories available online at the authors’ sites and the sites of publications that carry speculative fiction. It is a great way to read samples of the work of award-winning authors such as Charles Stross, whose whole collection of Satan’s.hs Update, is available for download from his site as well as from his publishers’ site. I have also downloaded the whole of Catherynne M. Valente’s The Orphan’s Tales: In the Night Kitchen from her site and her publisher’s.
