I finally got around to finishing it last week after a friend kept insisting, and I really need to talk about the audio version. It took a while to track down, but 'A Blade Reborn' does have an official audiobook. I found it on Audible, narrated by Evan Sanderson. His take on the older, cynical mentor character, Korvus, was fantastic, but I wasn't entirely sold on how he voiced the younger protagonist during the more frantic action scenes.

As for ebooks, you can find it easily on Kindle and Kobo. The digital edition includes some neat illustrations at the start of each major part, which is a nice touch the print version lacks. Honestly, the ebook might be the better pick if you're the type who flips back to check a map or a name. The audiobook is good for a commute, but I find myself zoning out during some of the longer, more philosophical monologues.

My copy had a few weird formatting glitches on my old Kindle Paperwhite, though, where some of the stylized chapter breaks showed up as question marks.

Found the ebook on Google Play Books without any trouble. The audiobook's there as well, same narrator as the other platforms. Listened to a sample; the voice fit the grim tone of the early chapters well enough. Ended up buying the ebook because I read faster than I listen.

Yeah, the audiobook exists. I listened to it last month. The narrator's okay, I guess, but the whole production feels kinda flat. The fight scenes lack energy, and there's no background score or sound effects, which I've come to expect from other fantasy series on audio. If you're used to that full-cast, immersive style, this one might disappoint.

I grabbed the ebook too, just to compare. It's perfectly serviceable. Reads fine on the app. I just wish the publisher had put a little more budget into the audio side of things. It feels like an afterthought. For a story with so much internal monologue about the weight of the sword and destiny, you'd think they'd want a narrator who could really sell that introspection.

Where can readers buy the blade itself audiobook edition?

If you're hunting for the audiobook version of 'The Blade Itself', I usually start with the big marketplaces because they're the easiest and fastest. Audible (through Amazon) almost always has it in most regions, and you can buy it with a credit or outright if you prefer. Apple Books and Google Play Audiobooks also carry it, and sometimes one of those will be cheaper during a sale. I like to sample the narrator before I buy — most stores let you listen to a short clip. For folks who want to support indie bookstores, I check Libro.fm; they link purchases to local shops and sometimes offer the same audiobook editions. If I’m trying to save money I’ll peek at Chirp and Audiobooks.com for limited-time discounts, or look at Downpour for DRM-free MP3 purchases. And I never forget the library option: OverDrive/Libby and Hoopla often have the audiobook available to borrow, which is perfect when I’m not in a hurry. So yeah, Audible, Apple Books, Google Play, Kobo, Libro.fm, Chirp, Downpour, and library apps are my go-tos depending on whether I want to buy, own DRM-free files, or borrow. Personally I usually pick whichever store has the best narrator sample and the best price, and I tend to stick with that edition because I love re-listening on long trips.
